RussG
Hi, Here is my interpretation of an 81 Squadron Spitfire VIII, finished in a SEAC livery as flown by F/Lt. Alan Peart DFC. The kit is the ICM 1/48 Spitfire VIII with Ventura decals, I hope you like it.... Thanks for looking, Russ

modelling minion
Very nice indeed. Just reading "Air Battle Of Imphal" at the minute and have just been reading about Pearce and 81 Sqns encounters with the Japanese and the hardships of being based in the jungle, inspiring stuff. Your model is a worthy tribute.

Vinnie
Hi Russ. Another wow! Where do you store all these wonderful builds? With your output, I would have run out of room ages ago. And in 48 scale!!!!

stevej60
That's a great build and finish Russ, how was it to build? Ive seen ICM's kit's get a bit of a kicking but they alway's look good built and a dirt cheap at the pre-owned seller's.
Kallisti
This looks great! My Dad was attached to 81 Sqn before they went to India/Burma, while they were part of Operation Torch in N. Africa but when they went to India he was transferred to 5 Sqn who were already out in India/Burma to work on Hurricanes. I've got a Tamiya 1:32 My VIII in the stash to do exactly what you've done with this, I read Alan's book a few years back and there are some great anecdotes in there, and I think my Dad appears in one of the photos.
