1/72 Lakenheath Eagle

Recommended Posts

stunning kit to build.  the fit was great and only a little bit of filler used.  I dont live that far from Lakenheath (Cambridge) and was pleased to find that the F-15j is a japanese version of the F-15c.  Might not be 100% accurate but I am happy with it.  I brought decals from Caracal models and am happy with the result.

The blue is a bit pale, but looks ok.

Used tamiya tape to make intake covers.  Luckily the Caracal decals had a couple of nifty spare decals in yellow.  Am really happy with the result

The exhausts are a work of art from the kit.  Easch one is made up of 21 parts!! Tried to replicate the white/brown/black insides of the exhausts.  Also tried to heat stain the metal panels underneath
