Eastern Express Viscount 700

There are a few 700's that I could do, to represent aircraft I saw during my spotting days, but not at those prices.  I'll just have to keep converting 800's.

Thanks for keeping us up to date with EE's output, they do produce some interesting subjects.

The Glencoe (ex Hawk) 1/100 kit is still a good basis. There are also Fresn and Welsh models kits which stack up very well price wise against the rather steep EE prices. IMHO all of these latter three are better shaped than the S&M which I assume (perhaps wrongly) that you are converting. This latter is more akin in the nose to a Lockheed Electra and very reminiscient of the old Frog kit, as is the simply traumatising Mach2 version.  Cheers, sorry to sound a bit negative but it needs saying.

No need to apologise, I've learned all this already from @Viking.   I bought a few S&M kits, as I preferred the injection moulded versions and so I'm rather stuck with converting them.........  slowly.

I've been toying with getting the EE kit. I built the Welsh kit. It's nice. 

 

But like you Mike, I prefer injected kits. I also agree it's rather steep, but it is the only game in town. 🤨🙁

I just "pulled the trigger" on the 700. Got the BOAC version. 

 

I don't think it has the early version non-radar nose.  Not sure though. Probably weeks till I receive the kit.

Also remember to add another pax window at the back end, stbd side... They missed it!
