Jasonb13
Hi there, I’m trying to find out what colour the rotors were on the US Chinooks in Vietnam. Ideally rotors on any of the four Chinook Gunships. Pictures seem to suggest Black or Olive Drab, but a lot of the pics are black and white so it’s hard to tell. I have instructions for two Chinook Gunship kits (1:48 and 1:72 Italeri) and one says Gunship Grey and the other says Black. Any ideas what I should be going for? Thanks... Trenton guy
The ones I saw were black. Observed in the Central Highlands, 1968-1969. None were gunships but I can’t imagine that they were different.

ziggyfoos
The Army's blade tops were usually OD in Vietnam (Chinooks, Cobras, Loaches, etc). I doubt the gunship Chinooks would be any different than standard scheme. Tips were yellow and also see some with a large white band on the top center area of the blade.
