Can't help you with the TSS I'm afraid but the Grumman Martlet MkIV was also used on Op.Torch so you could have a matching pair.

As an example:- Grumman Martlet IV FN112(?)/07*D, 888 HMS Formidable Operation Torch Nov-1942.  Lt DM Jeram.  I would need to confirm the serial against Struviant but I think the 1/72 Airfix Martlet IV has the markings in the box.  - Now any chance they'll enlarge it to 1/48 for me?

Funnily enough, I'm toying with the idea of doing the Airfix Martlet I have in the stash as the AZ and Sword ones aren't suitable for Operation Torch.

I'm wondering "great minds" or "fools seldom differ"?

I wish. I've been after an Albacore for a while but the Special Hobby one is out of production (although Hannants have it as 'TBA') so costs a fortune on eB*y. I did, briefly, consider a Pegasus one but thought better of it.

Possibly a bit of both.

Pop a request in the wanted section, there are some great people on here, you never know your luck ;)

cheers Pat

Nice idea but I won't take advantage of some-one to get hold of a kit that I'll make a mess of.

The Fulmar has had a coat of Future, prior to getting it's transfers:

Meanwhile, I started a second build.

Thanks for looking.

Crikey Simon, you're certainly building apace these days! Nice paint job :)

Off to see your Martlet...

Thanks Ced. I've also got a Spitfire, a Tempest, a Beaufighter and two Mosquitos on the go.

Anyway, most of the transfers are on:

Nice job Simon, looks like the canopy masks worked well too B)

Cheers,

Thanks Stew. Usually I'd paint the canopy freehand but I value my sanity.

Thanks Gary. I feel another Fulmar coming on in the near future.

Look's the Biz Simon, great colour's too look spot on.

Thanks Steve. Humbrol enamels and, if they are spot-on, it's more by luck than judgement.

Very nice job Simon, I now have Fulmar envy! :)

If you're thinking of giving in to Fulmar envy, don't bother with the AZ one: it's the same plastic as the Vista/Smer/Airfix/Revell one so is overpriced (although you get some etch and resin wheels).

she does look great in that scheme, well done.

Thanks. As I mentioned above, I think I'll do one in the high-demarcation (?) scheme next.

The exhausts, I've modified some from an AZ Spitfire, have been installed and she's had a watered-down goauch wash.

In between sitting in the garden, drinking Ghost Ship and listening to XTC, I've wiped the wash off:

I can't decide if I ought to add a stretched sprue aerial or not.

Thanks for looking.
