Hi again all you Phantom lovers!

I've found some sunshine in the form of images of F-4Ds taken during a visit to the 170th Tactical Fighter Squadron, Illinois Air National Guard at Capital Airport, Springfield, Illinois in May 1982. Note the fresh-painted machine with wrap-around camouflage in the final image. They need little introduction so here goes:

CAP3

CAP5

CAP4

CAP2

CAP1

CAP11A

CAP10A

CAP7A

CAP6A

CAP8A

As always, I hope you like them :)

Sorry Mike, I missed your last comment. I have a Thud in WIP.

@72modelerdid you see my other F-4 posts, Mike?

Roger that! I have them saved for reference! Doing a B or an early D in silver lacquer from the 4th FBW, I presume?

Hi Mike!

After that it’ll be a D “Mr Toad” 59-1749 and then a test B model (54-0107)

I also have a Microscale set for 23TFW/563TFS for the future. ;)

Outstanding. I miss the days back when the ANG still flew these. The sky seemed more exciting back then.

I guess, having been privileged to see the F-4s, the era of the F-100s would have been my ideal time :). Notwithstanding that I was very fortunate :).

You would have loved the very colorful 354th FDW F-100's at Myrtle Beach AB in South Carolina in the late fifties- commanded by the late great Francis Gabreski! Heaven for a young planespotter/future modeler!
