I wouldn't know as I always bung a second class stamp on the envelope and leave the recipient to pay the excess charge. It still has to be less than Royal Fail charge.

You've obviously never tried to send an international package via the US Postal service!

Uh-oh. Here comes thread drift. They'll be talking about Frankfurters next...

I thought I’d better do some modelling sharpish before the cosplay photos start flying around...

So here we have the exhausts and mounting plates. They will need quite a lot of clean up and filler, but I can make them work:

Thanks for looking,

No doubt about that from here Adrian, no doubt at all :)

Just to add to the mail thread-drift, have you see Royal Mail's 'buy postage online' site? Nice and easy(ish) if you're not sure about costs and can't be bothered to go to the Post Office (if you can find one).

Much prettier than a pic of Martian's frankfurter I'm sure!

Ian

You haven't seen me in my Frank N Furter outfit so how can you possibly tell?

Having seen the stage show twice, I sincerely hope I don't!

Nothing personal of course....

Have you ever heard the phrase "You're not helping"? :)

I think you are just here to incite unrest ("Oh no he isn't", ...)

Quite. Very silly!

I will post some more pics (of cowlings) as soon as I've tidied up the Milliput. I have been diverted to kitchen duties, which I will perform diligently until the Milliput dries...

Adrian

cosplay is short for costume play, where people attend comic book conventions dressed as their favourite comic book characters. Closely related to the phenomenon where attendees at a "Rocky Horror Picture Show" screening dress up as characters from the film. I chose "Brad".

Sorry but the film doesn't count, has to be the stage show, and you should see the girls! 🤪

On my first visit, to Oxford, the car broke down on the motorway. It was very entertaining watching the passing drivers' faces as they saw 3 guys and 2 very scantily clad girls bending over the bonnet.....(the guys were wearing the same things as the girls of course, so even more scanty. Not a very pretty picture, but bloody funny!)

More modelling:

E532-DBBE-A2-D5-4-DE8-BA59-A1-B718-A139-

Cowlings more or less finished. I will give the gills a light sanding when they are dry and the Milliput is still a bit cheesy so it will need a rub down to smooth the exhausts.

And finished-finished!

6-F7-B93-A1-1-BE4-4-D38-8-F95-4-FFF0-C6-

L-R: Airfix Beaufighter, modified; Frog Beaufighter, modified; and Frog Beaufort, retrieved from the spares box. The asymmetries are deliberate, based on photos. I’m glad I came across the Frog Beaufighter because the Airfix cowlings look wa-a-ay too big now.

No more pics of cowlings, I promise!

I’ve moved on to the cockpit. The interior green was done and now the detail painting is done too. I still need to add seatbelts and armrests for the pilot, and a light and compass for the navigator:

3-E3-E0-E7-F-7-DBC-4-C77-BA05-4-EC7-E012

Then I need to paint the turret and I can close up the fuselage!

PS: that’s the Frog original cockpit at front left...

Adrian
