Brundledonk
all snapped together (shoulder rest was left in Mr Surfacer grey too ) the magazines was painted in exactly the same way but I didn't like how it looked. in this pic it's just one half dry fitted as I hadn't painted the ammo that goes inside it yet I painted the ammo next whilst I had a think about what to do with the magazine. alclad gold and aluminium over Mt Surfacer , the tips were then over painted with clear red Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
back to the magazine. I painted out the light wash with gloss black then lightly sprayed alcald jet exhaust to give a metal Sheen but also a slightly different tone to the frame. you can just make out the difference in tone in this pic I mentioned at the very beginning of this build that I wasn't going to weather this to death but did want to add some signs of use and I'm trying my best to stick to that. so many of my builds are weathered/heavily weathered that for me it will make a nice change to have something in my cabinet that is a bit more subtle, so I just light sanded the edges back to primer and used a small amount of silver to add some scratches. I can allways add more if I want but it's much harder to take it away Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
trying my best to keep it reigned in and also keeping in mind the scale of the Gundam when I fitted the magazine into the Bazooka it looked wrong against the clean finish so I added some scratches to that as well it looks a bit harsh that close up in the above pic but further away it's a bit more subtle and in hand you have to look closley to see it Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
I nearly forgot, there is a lid for the magazine you can put on if it's not attached to the gun and that was painted also and if not in the gun the magazine can store on the waist armour (hooks onto the little grey peg) but you only get one Bazooka magazine so it's all or nothing I'm afraid Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk

Brundledonk
next on the list is the Vulcan pod, think of it as a giant pair of headphones with a machine gun built into them. I believe that some Gundam suits have the cannons built into the the head but the mark II doesn't have them hence the lead spitting Beats by Dre gloss black base coat then highlights in the centre done by adding white to the airbrush cup not as smooth as finish as I'm capable of but it was mega hot when I did this and even though it's cooler underground in the Petecave the temperature was less than ideal for spraying lacquers so it was drying in the air. it matters not as I will be flat coating but wanted to point out why it's a bit dog rough lol Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk Spooling mostokes
Brundledonk
the neck band is moulded using bandai dark magic so one piece on the sprue but has moving joints. sprayed gloss black with steel in the centre and then aluminium in the centre of the steel Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
a bit of masking as I'm going to spray these bits white and this bit red (it will all make a bit more sense in a minute) here we go Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
all the bits painted and de-masked I sprayed the business end in Mr Surfacer to hopefully give some continuity to the other weapon I used it on decals on, flat coated and all snapped together Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk
Pete in Lincs
A good end result despite the enamel woes. And the weapons are looking good too. Your pictures are very clear too. better than mine. Me, I'll stick with this laptop. No idea what all these F buttons are for though. Oh, and control which to do what? Not a clue.

It's not bad just different but I'm sure if I keep using it I will get better (i surely can't get worse lol ) Pete

Brundledonk
and here it is on the Gundam, not snapped completely in place as I don't want to chip the paint on the head as I won't be displaying it with the Vulcan pod Edited July 8, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
thats the build bang up to date, all that's left is the shield, beam rifle and 2 figures. these are all primed and ready to paint but while the weather is good I don't kn ow how much bench time I will find, it's not so much that I'm a lover of this hot weather it's just that since we moved here it seems to have rained for pretty much all the time and I swear the kids have developed gills and webbed feet over the last 8 years lol. we moved away from the concrete Urban jungle tohave a life with less stress and be closer to nature so while the weather is like it is we are going to do our best to get out and explore the natural beauty of the countryside and we are only half an hour away from some lovely coastlines and even though I have visited them all numerous times they are even more eye-catching with the sun out thank you for the interest in this build and the kind comments I'll be back with an update soon Pete
Brundledonk
I'm back a bit sooner than I anticipated, circumstances changed and left me at a bit of a loose end so I decided I would use the time to get a bit more done at the bench. not much left to choose to work on now and all is in primer, it's a nice feeling seeing the pile of parts get smaller It was a toss up between the shield and the beam rifle, I went with the beam rifle as the shield has a lot of complicated painting on the inner face and I didn't fancy tackling it today. I'm going to try and make the paint scheme match the bazooka so out with some white paint and some masking to keep a bit of the primer grey on show (beam sabres handles were painted white at the same time) Edited July 11, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
seem to be having a problem getting the pics to show. I'm not sure if it's me or Flickr but only the first pic worked anything else is posting as a link and not an image so I'll leave it at while and see if it sorts itself out I think it was a glitch at Flickr's end as all seems to be working fine this morning. a band of orange was sprayed over the barrel in an attempt to link it visually with the other weapon with the tape off and I wasn't happy with their result. It's clean and no bleed but I don't like the grey either side of the orange stripe (it was white on the bazooka) Edited July 11, 2018 by Brundledonk 1

I usually do 1\32 and up so i thought my chipping would end up out of scale but it doesn't look too bad in hand
Brundledonk
back out with the masking tape so I could add some white and move the grey to the base of the barrel while I had the tape out I masked the stock so I could spray the grip gloss black and a light coat of steel Edited July 11, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
with the tape off and some dark wash added to the stock to bring out the details and the other side the top cover was done in the same way as the grip and here decals have been added Edited July 11, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
magazines painted in jet exhaust to give a bit of difference in tone to the body of the rifle then the same as the Bazooka magazine I sanded the edges back to primer a bit of modelair silver added here and there, decals and a very light flat coat Edited July 11, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
unlike the Bazooka you get 3 magazines for the rifle, these 2 will store on the back of the shield and 1 to keep on the rifle. I added some scratches and chipping to the dark areas with silver but haven't done anything to the White areas yet as I will do this when I go back and add some to the White armour on the Gundam Edited July 11, 2018 by Brundledonk
Brundledonk
next to the Bazooka and hopefully they look like they belong together there was a clear lens for the beam rifle that I sprayed clear green so while I had the paint out I painted the sensor in the Viper pod as Bandai moulded it solid and I have also made a start on the little dudes
