kitman
Hi I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem which has cropped up during my latest build. I have applied the doted line ' do not walk etc' onto the focke wulf wing. I t coveres a lot of the wing and is coloured white. The problem is that the lines look excessively bold and dominate the wing. Has anyone got any ideas as to a way to reduce the brightness and colour of the line so that they look more realistic. Corsairfoxfouruncle
Possibly a wash or Filters ? Some kind of weathering should tone it down.
Giorgio N
One relatively simple way is to spray a very fine mist of very thinned light grey paint. This will have the effect of blending together the colours and will reduce the brightness of the white lines. If you don't have an airbrush, you can try by rubbing some light grey chalks over the white stencils, will have the same effect
colin
Tend to use a thin coat of Tamiya smoke colour, then a final matt varnish if the finish is matt.I tend to do it all over the decals as the colours can look a bit too new and bright compared to the matt weathered paint
