And we will have tea before flight I rather feel, rather than later as I expect another stiff lecture from Aunt Agatha is on its way"

"As you wish sir, may I make a small suggestion?"

For fear of this moving 'off-piste' have a look at the test piece I am making

Not a good picture but will keep the Palouste in the public eye I hope

Apologies, normal service needed resuming as soon as possible

Chally Alert

Chally Alert

Calling Mr Quikfit Chally71

James you always know tyre sizes, can you tell me the DIMENSIONS of the wheels on the Palouste please

It'd be a shame not to use resources properly after all

Thanks in anticipation

I think as standard that they were 10" x 3" tyres on a 4" rim.

This pod has 260 x 85mm tyres fitted to the 'main wheels' which is now a more common size to find, probably got to a case of find and fit it!

Thank you James

I have been 'knocking up a few wheels' but a thought occurs

How does that compare to the tailwheel on, for example, a Sea Fury, I might have a spare that could be pressed into moulding service and comparing it alongside the casting it looks reasonably like the photospread

Harrier outriggers too

Both Harrier and Sea Fury little wheels are 13" diameter, I guess that you could do what you did with your Wasp and reduce the wheel sizes.

A Sea Fury tailwheel looks a lot more like the Palouste wheels, and nearer the correct section.

To return to Perdu's old project, one of them, I am considering making a dio using a Palouste and a couple of crewmen

As my general topic is the RN/FAA can anyone advise me the correct colour bib to be worn by the guys who would manhandle the Palouste pipe up to a Buccaneer's starter flap, please

I get that different trades on deck would be defined by the colours they wore and it looks to me, as if the deck crew handling the aircraft would wear white bibs but the few pictures I have gleaned dont show the specific 'man' with a hose about to do the job

I see Navy blue general clothing, with maybe a padded and earmuffed helmet/hat and various coloured bibs

Johnny-Start-Engine's colours would be welcome, both for the Bucc S1's term of 'office' and possibly also the Gannet CODs on Ark Royal as maybe there would be changes over time

Thanks Rich, good movies so I am saving links to them

Basically it seems to be mostly warm blue jackets and trews with occasional flying helmet type cloth hats in a fetching shade of green

Now to find some little men :

I love coming here to the Movies, thanks

Began an early try to build the yellow upper frame

I don't like it in wire so I'm off to try out 0.020" plastic rod by Evergreen

See you later I hope

A little update on my Paloustering

I made the frame for mine and now I've to teach myself

Photoshopppery so I can learn to draw accurate teardrop shapes

If Cheshiretaurus, Fritag and Hendie amongst other notables can do it I reckon it to be time I went back for chemistry lessons

And a flattened out Palouste basket looks like a fun way to grow new mental muscules

Do you know if they will release their 72nd version as a stand alone kit aswel?

Disregard last, see Hannants have it listed!

I just got it.

It's very nice, even if it'sall in one piece and to be displayed open, it'll have to be modified.

Only joking James, I had the pleasure of making it and...

Well you know the rest

And we all know it wouldn't have happened if you had not rolled the ball downhill with your photographic oddyssy

I feel bad about not knocking a few out for you Crisp, I'm just not too clever with numbers and scaling

There have been plans afoot but...

😕

Hmm, should I go about making after market after market I wonder?

I dunno, you craft the hell out of two basic and old Buccaneer kits, and Airfix announces a new kit of one, you scratch build a Palouste and CMK release one!

Hopefully there is a decent 72  Sea Vixen waiting in the wings, oh and could you have a go at a Scimitar while you're there Bill!

I agree completely with Crisp, yourself, and weselves, had the pleasure of your superb pod builds.
