... that one day a kit maker will make cockpit decals that actually fit the instrument panels. :swear:

 

Spent half the afternoon trying to get the decals to fit my Airfix Phantom and they are all about 0.5mm out. I've had to trim every one. Although this is an Airfix kit I have noticed that none of the mainstream manufacturers seem able to manage to get the decals the right size.

 

Can the decal designers not read the drawings of the cockpit parts or do the decals actually stretch when they get wet? :huh:

I think decals stretch when wet, especially when doing cheat lines.

In my experience, they never allow for the carrier film.

Yup. SOP for me these days is to cut through the carrier film (just the film, not the paper) around the transfer before dipping the item in water. That way swearing is reduced.
