The Su-57 are arriving

I'm just getting used to the idea of using camouflage marking transfers (wooden finish, lozenge) on some WWI Albatros models I have. I haven't really thought about some of the more exotic modern schemes, but this 'digital' camouflage does look like a good candidate for a transfer.

Authentic Decals did a decal sheet in 1/72 scale for a Ukrainian digital Su-27 which was excellent.....

They also quoted the colours they used so you could match up - and they supplied extra bits for 'filling in'

We just need the same for the Su-57...

Same here. I doubt you will get a 100% fit with decals on the whole airframe, so you'll have to do some touch-up and then good luck finding a paint to match the decals. I also worry about what it will do with the cripness of the panel lines if you cover the whole kit with decals.

Now to guess on how many years it will be before the Russians come back to Fairford Air Tattoo and bring one with them :)

Yes I remember that period well, and aircraft like the Flanker will forever have a golden spot of nostalgia for me when they first appeared there during that thawing of relations after the cold war.

A friend of mine who worked there with the RAF told me of them arriving on fumes and then flying back to Russia with full tanks, but I think everyone was convivial and in good spirits.

Interesting thread.  With any luck all this low radar return and fighting insurgents from 30,000+ ft can stop.  The technological arms race will make ground masking relevant once more and we can get back to the serious business of painting everything grey-green wrap around and low flying near my house again.

Yeah, bring on the A-10s BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTT!

Because thanks to new weapons technologies, everything can return back to silver coatings:

😉😁

Without any silver  panels effects!! Just a mirror cover! Welcome to new mirror Would?!

(pacifism mode "on") 😁

I think this happens to many who have been bitten by the military-industrial complex, regardless of country!

😁😁😁

(pacifism mode "off")

But for some reason, after reading You posting,  I thought about this:

Kozlov_PS.jpg

( transparent aircraft based on Yakovlev AIR-4

https://ru.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/АИР

, see tab "невидимый самолет")

Everything new is well forgotten old, therefore, attempts to implement the invisibility mode in the visual spectrum due to new technologies are possible.

I would rather use painting masks for something like that.

I purchased these directly from the Them 😁👍

I did similar digital camo mask for my ongoing F-16C build:

It was really time consuming work but at the end it worth all that effort 🙂

I've forgotten.  Are we gonna get a 1:48 kit of the Su-57 now?  I think it's a yes, but can't remember who or when. :hmmm:

I believe Kitty Hawk and Zvezda both have 1:48 kits coming. There is always the HpH kit though...if you have some extra cash and don't mind fibreglass.

Cheers,

Bill

That's some serious distortion in that canopy! Badly moulded.🧐

Wonder if they will send new clear parts from KH?

In the main set from Sukhoj it is unlikely, I think I will have to contact the aftermarket manufacturers of vacu canopy...Rob Taurus, Quinta Studios, Pavla need  follow the news on their websites and catalogs!

😉😁
