Mjwomack
Long before I was came on and lowered the tone, I think there was a GB for anything that wasn't injection molded plastic. I'm proposing Vol II, maybe the No PIMP GB that's No Injection Molded Plastic. Or to be more positive about it, wood, etch, white metal card, vac-form ... Having just started on a resin car in the 10th Anniversary GB, I've discovered a whole new world, and I was inspired and awed by what @pheonix did with wood and metal in the floatplane GB. Plus all the amazing vac-form work. And I do have to card buildings that I have no reason to build unless a GB comes along. What I'm thinking is.. Any model you like, so wiffy, sci-fi, fantasy even more conventional subjects, no holds barred in any medium you like but the injection molded element can't be more than 25%. I'm putting that in because in the my case, I'd replace the rainwater goods with AM injection molded and to allow for raiding the scrap box for similar fiddly details for others. Then standard GB rules apply and fun to be had along with new experiences; after all why should New Media always mean Twitter etc? Any takers/ thoughts etc? Hosts/ co-hosts/ founts of wisdom are offering their services and I've found an emoji with a tenuous link to host/ hospitality in 🏘️, having first rejected the hospital one; though that might be needed later So far Me (I suppose I should) 🏘️ Exdraken Mottlemaster Philp Black Knight BritJet CliffB Jb65rams dud_gan_ainm bootneck zebra sleeperservice Robert Stuart Angus Tura Tom Probert Kallisti Romeo Alpha Yankee Jockney Gorby helios16v rafalbert Heather Kay torbjorn Arniec DaveyGair RayS Panther II Tim R-T-C dnl42 Trickyrich 🏘️ Pin 🏘️ Jinxman Tzulscha malpaso Mr T
bootneck
Sounds like a good theme, count me in. This isn't going to help me reduce my stash though! Mike

Mjwomack
Thanks for joining up gents, @bootneck I've not made any commitments about reducing stash volume- even though I've got 3 obvious candidates there's sure to be something catch my eye. What I might offer is the chance for possible spares box reduction for a couple of drop tanks etc. As for what is a wifely, well fun though it would be to suggest modelling spouse or partner in carved chocolate, it's actually a far more mundane wretched auto-correct getting the better of me; I'll try and wrestle into submission now! Please count me in, loads of vacforms and of course resins to build in the stash. Having recently lost my cherry on both of these type of kits recently I would really encourage you to have a go, the sense of achievement is amazing I will likely try to build one of my Contrail Flying Boats, or a Resin flying boat instead cheers Pat 2

Jb65rams
I would be up for this. Have a number of kits in the stash that qualify.

philp
I would like to try again. My last resin selection had issues but I have a bunch of others to try this with. Phil

trickyrich
I'm in with bells and whistles on.......well not really but a resin flying beastie! Arrrrrr the world of resin, once you cross to the dark/good side there's no going back!!! Good to see someone trying to get this one up again, I got the original up and it was a huge blast with some awesome stuff built!! Unfortunately it didn't quite get up the second time, so fingers crossed for this one!! If you need a hand to Co-Host I'd be more then happy to lend a hand. I have soooo many possibilities for this one, whatever it is it'll be big and resin!
Mjwomack
Welcome everybody, the more the merrier @CliffB If you go with 3D printing and I keep it retro with old-school 2D cardboard, that'll be a fascinating contrast in itself. @Black Knight @philp @trickyrich and anyone else who was in the last build, please can you point me to the old thread? My searches have failed, but I'm reassured to know that I did find it once and haven't dreamt it (can never be ruled out with my head). Looking at the list of interest, already into double figures I'm in exalted company- thanks Rich for offering to co-host, I've been wondering about the hosting because I have very little practical knowledge and intend to venture into 'NuMeeeja' in any case which makes my practical guidance limited, plus the subject selection is likely to be so wide and obscure that I wonder if anyone can cover all the prototypical knowledge. But I've read the guidance for hosts and I can certainly do the words of encouragement- I've received plenty from others and will glad repay the debt. In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing something big and in resin! Best wishes, Michael
trickyrich
Hi Michael, try this.... Non-Injection Moulded GB 2015 This is a bit of slightly extreme resiny stuff I do and that's before I started casting stuff as well! B-51G "Tropic Moon III" ....and my current project, pure resin porn!!! 1/32nd Sea Fury Hosting is easy, read all the guides.....then throw away all that info! Nah it's quite simple really, the only hard bit can be setting up the poll.......I've messed that up a couple of times! First off get a list started, which you have and keep track of all those that want to join. Once we hit the magic 30 Enzo will put us into the poll, it's then up to the gods and votes! Big stuff, have 2 1/32nd aircraft in the stash, heaps of 1/48th still including a Canberra/B-57 and MiG-31, plus by the time this one comes around......... BritJet
I managed to reduce the stash by 4 in the last non-injection build so I'd be up for a rematch. I've still got about 20 vacform, 30 resin and a couple of vinyl kits to choose from so plenty to have a go at. Good to see some of the same people on the list as last time, we kept each other going through the difficult bits which really helped. Definitely add me to the list. theplasticsurgeon
We did have a vacform GB in 2009 - it didn't get many finishers. I did complete my one and only vacform, personal circumstances making that year a lot more difficult for me, so I treasured the achievement more. Unwilling to commit again, but I do have eligible kits - so don't bank on me staying away.

The hardest thing for this GB will be getting the votes in November! The more attractive and inclusive you can make the GB the better chance you'll have of getting the votes. It took quite a few attempts and then the combining of VacForm and Resin GB's to get the first one over the fence, the next time it was suggested it was a cellar-dweller in the voting. fingers crossed this time! Ray S
Hello, you can count me in too please! I had great fun with the Non-Injection GB, and need some inspiration again! I feel like trying to have a go at scratch building the SS Politician which was the ship that inspired the film (and book?) Whisky Galore. I have a set of plans for it so I would have no excuse! Hope this Group Build gets through in the vote when it is time! Ray

Mike on here has been complaining about the cost of this so let's keep this nice and quiet so hopefully he won't have noticed cheers Pat
