71chally
Welshmodels is showing details of a new 1:72 kit of the Vickers Vanguard. It will be a vacform and resin kit, and looks set for release in early 2018, http://www.welshmodels.co.uk/vanguard.html I can feel an Invicta Vanguard or Elan Merchantman coming on!
Homebee
Welsh Models 1/72nd Vickers Vanguard resin kit (multi material) is reported on approach - ref. CLS72-22 Source: https://www.facebook.com/Welshmodels-148316871912810/ Quote CLS72-22 - the forthcoming Vickers Vanguard in 1:72nd scale - we have our first items back from our suppliers......The patterns are with the resin manufacturers with an 8 week delivery time anticipated, so were hopefully looking for a release date somewhere around Mid August or thereabouts for this beauty..... Albeback52
Lovely choice of subject. Old enough to remember these beauties. And the lovely sound of those R R Tynes! Pity it has to be a resin kit though............................................................!😭Still, hope it does well. The lack of 1/72 airliner kits in ANY form is quite sad. I might even consider turning to the dark side if someone could produce affordable 1/72 airliners in IM styrene !! Allan

Allan IM 1/72 airliner kits are few and few between, it is highly unlikely anything as niche as Vanguard would even be on the radar of a IM company even if they were considering a run of 1/72 airliner kits. For the record the fuselage components are vac, the rest is resin and white metal. If its to the same quality of other WM kits in the scale, the resin will be on the par with IM styrene and there will be nothing to fear. Thomo. pinky coffeeboat
Oh yes that will look great. I'd go for the "half jack" scheme (or whatever it was called) - this one BEA Vanguard - half jack but the red square one looks great too BEA Vanguard red square Jeff

kev67
Will require though adding the exhausts outlets on the outer engine nacelle underneath, and exhaust outlets underneath on the front bit of the engine nacelle on all 4 engines, which seem to be missing on the kit
