Pegasus Hobbies 1/48 Hurricane I

Recommended Posts

Rejoining with this Pegasus Hobbies kit.  This is the Military Museum Collection.

Layed around at Jet Age intriguing me.  I've NEVER heard of it before - let alone seen in.  This kit was a donation,

partial start on the cockpit area, and every part removed from sprue.

Anyway here are the parts, that cockpit is well within the 10% rule.

This is thick brown plastic,

This kit has strickers as well as decals.

Intent is to builld this as SD*X, that we have at Jet Age.

Airfix and Pegasus has two different camo patterns - so I'm checking at Jet Age this afternoon.

Hope is to maintain pace with my Novo build, and airbrush them both at the same time.

Always room in the GB for another Hurricane and this will be the first time I've seen the Pegasus kit going together. Seems to have a reasoable level of detail for a low parts count.

if you wish to replicate the above image, you need a new spinner,  but if you wish to build at as SD-X circa the BoB the kit one is right. (spitfire Rotol)

if you want the camouflage pattern

see diagram on page 19.   It might the mirror image, but the detail are the same.

there is an image of the Airfix box art plane, V6799, here

Never seen one of these built but I believe it’s erm.....inspired by the Hasegawa one.

Indeed, it's basically copied from the Hase....

Looks to be coming together well. How well are the parts fitting?

Actually - quite well.   There are massive locating lugs - that do align.

Makes this more of a toy than a model though.

And that brown plastic makes it something else  :poop:

It certainly looks the part and with no obvious hint of being a simplified kit over what Hasegawa or Airfix offers.
