Red Arrows, Now and Then - Airfix Gnat and Hawk 1/72

Them last few pages are a model of determination and poise Ced - a colourful jamboree that gladdens the eye.

Great notion about tracing things on the graphics tablet for masking too....

Thanks Rob, Chris, Rob, Giorgio, Simon, Tony, Stuart, Keith, Johnny, John and Roger (phew, caught up!) :)

Is it a good idea to apply stencils after a night at the pub? No. Nevertheless, has to be done:

Glad that's over. Two Arrows ready for gloss coat later:

Time for a lie down now.

Thanks Benedikt, Simon and Giorgio - they'll be on the ceiling but I will try to get an 'action' pose :)

Thanks Tomo, Cookie and Roger, very kind :)

Lights and pitots on after the Aqua Gloss, they'll be ready for some RFI shots on the morning:

Yep, lovely pair of Dead Sparrows Ced, nice work!

Just one thing, has something dripped onto the Gnat's port wing leading edge?

Keith

Thanks Keith - well spotted! :)

Sorted this morning. Judging by the red on this:

... it must have been in the Klear coat? Must pay more attention before adding more layers.

They look god damn gorgeous and it's the first time I've seen the two together. The Gnat is still my fave :)

Thanks Rob, very kind :)

Now in the RFI here.

Thanks as usual for all your help, support and companionship during this build :)

What's next?

This April 5th is the 50th anniversary of Alan Pollock's flight through the span of Tower Bridge. I have an old Airfix Hunter FGA.9 and will happily ignore all the accuracy problems with the kit.

I need to do some more research but I'll come back here and post a link when I start the WiP.
