Pelican
Hello folks, This is the Academy (Accurate Miniature) kit. It is very detailed but the manual is poorly designed as it retained only the pictures of the Accurate Miniature's one without any explanation. I also used some Eduard photoeched in the cockpit, the decals are from Berna. Hope you like it. cheers Edited February 22, 2018 by Pelican 49

Wez
This is fantastic! I have the Italeri Academy boxing of this to do in this scheme too whenever I get time, you're right about the instructions. I'd be very pleased if mine came out looking half as good as yours. Superb! Edited February 22, 2018 by Wez
Roberto
It looks really nice. Interesting markings.
Buzby061
Very nice indeed, the AM kit is great & it's good that it's still available. I believe their Dauntless has been re-boxed by Italeri & includes a French scheme. Pete
72modeler
What the others have said! Nice to see one in a different scheme, and I really like what you've done with the weathering. The Turkey is a BIG bird in 1/48! Mike
Jackson Duvalier
Well done, Pelican! The wing root weathering is superb. I've got a couple of the AM boxings from back in the day when I built in 1/48. One of the finest kits ever tooled, up there with Tamiya's Thunderbolts. Really wish some enterprising souls would pantograph the AM Avenger and Dauntless down to 1/72!

Troy Smith
I did wonder f they got that tatty., given the corrosive nature of sea water... but a google found this, lo oks to be land based in Algeria from http://avions-de-la-guerre-d-algerie.over-blog.com/article-grumman-tbf-tbm-avenger-52525334.html caught that well worn look of the original! 7 hours ago, Pelican said: It is very detailed but the manual is poorly designed as it retained only the pictures of the Accurate Miniature's one without any explanation. the original AM instructions were available on a web archive, http://web.archive.org/web/20071011225755/http://accurate-miniatures.com/support.shtml this is the link on the turret which has given some folks trouble http://web.archive.org/web/20071011225755/http://accurate-miniatures.com/support.shtml 3 hours ago, Buzby061 said: I believe their Dauntless has been re-boxed by Italeri & includes a French scheme. both Italeri, and then Eduard have reboxed the AMm Dauntless with French schemes. cheers T
goggsy
Spot on that is, beautiful work. And yes, those instructions really are dire.
Pelican
Thanks you very much for your kind comments! @Troy Smith Indeed I worked on the weathering based on the exact picture you post. Somewhat to my surprise I managed to fit the turret without any problem according to the AM instructions. I am the fortunate owner of an Eduard Dauntless box but for the time being I would rather build 1/72 jets. Cheers
