One quick question: does reconnaissance encompass observation types such as the Henschel Hs-126?

Cheers,

Adam.

I would say so, observation is another form of reconnaissance

This is creeping up on us and I've been thinking (always a bad idea!), I may have another crack at an AFV instead of my usual, and preferred, Wingy-Thingy(my previous two AFV featured GB's never got finished).  This time it'll be something on wheels, an IBG 1/35th Marmon Herrington MkII Armoured Car, with figures!  This is just a maybe mind and subject to change!

Davey.

a change can sometimes do wonders, I had had really poor form with AFV's until I build the ZSU-57-2. It was the first AFV I'd manage to finish in under a year and a thoroughably enjoyable build it was too. So much so I'm building 5 this year!

It's a cool looking armoured car you've chosen, I look forward to seeing it in the build.

Hello to All

I think to enter in this GB with a FL 282 V-21 Kolibri 1/35 Miniart, not much seen !

Hi All

I would be interested in entering with a Sherman Firefly if that is permissible as a tank killer.

Cheers

WW

I should think so, it was sometimes referred to as a "Tank Destroyer", and the 17 Pounder was an effective weapon against the Tigers and Panthers.

Welcome aboard.

Oh my word, things are getting out of hand.  :frantic:

I've already made choices for each category in this GB.  That should be enough  - but nooooooo....   :banghead:

I've had so much fun building Hellcats in the Grumman GB that I'm now seriously considering building an F6F-5P and F6F-5N in this GB...   :mental:

Hi Rich - as this GB is coming up - just checkin'

Would this be acceptable in the recon quadrant for the GB??  (So far as I know, these aircraft were purely recon birds, and are kits that are very RARELY (if ever) seen built on the forum...)

Hi Philip,

that will be fine, that model was a dedicated Recon bird, super unusual and as you say rare. I've never seen one built before and didn't even know there was a model out their of one.

So go for it   , it'll be great to see one of these built and in the gallery.

Hi Rich,

Is a Police Chopper acceptable in the Recon category? I know it's not technically 'reconnaisance' (more like observation) but thought I would ask.

Have plenty others that would qualify so no stress if not!

Cheers,

Dermot

it's probably taking that theme to the extreme....but if you really want to build it?

It's been turned into the cutest little tank destroyer ever, hasn't it? I might change my mind when I start putting the tracks together - apparently they're individual links, which at this scale are going to be 3mm wide.

hmmm....not the sort of thing to come a cross a Tiger in!

Oh dear I just realised this is a 1/72nd scale model!!!! :yikes: I've been reading a review on one of them, yeah individual tracks and I reckon saying 3mm wide is being very generous for this scale!

This is a review of one of the other versions...
