gingerbob
I'm trying to talk myself into attempting the Hasegawa P-3 Orion, though it is intimidatingly large (the fuselage, at least). But right now there's no way- trying to get the boats ready for the season. Once things settle down at the end of this month perhaps I'll feel more over-confident! Wez
I have the Revell 1/144 Lockheed C-121C but frankly, I hate Revell's decals so I'm casting my eye around for something different. What civilian Connie does a C-121C equate to? To my eyes it bears resemblence to a Super Constellation (L-1049?), can anyone confirm?
IanHx
Choosing a subject for a Lockheed group build from what's in the stash.... how hard can it be ? [ .. and no, given my build speed 'all of them' is not the correct answer ! ]
rob Lyttle
You're right @Wez. Just watch out for the nose variation. Some 1049 liners have the short nose. Plenty have the long radar fit

However correct & realistic are frequently (ok, in our cases always) at odds with one another. 😁

So few helicopters in these builds (CH-46 stgb noted) as there is. To see a rarity like the Cheyenne would be very nice.

rob Lyttle
@Wez, has your 121 got wingtip tanks?? They were introduced on the 1049G, with "Super G" name tag and logo. Definitely the long radar nose on these.

Rob, I've had the chance to examine the kit properly now, the original short nose is there on the clear sprue whilst the separate radar nose is on one of the main sprues as are the wingtip tank, this appears to open up a whole world of opportunity AFAIK, it would appear that I could make any Connie or Super Connie, what do you think? I'm looking at decals from Classic-Airlines

Not the early 749 type before the fuselage was stretched, and the very last version 1649 (Starliner?) got stretched even more, and the wings as well. But everyone is always keep saying I will fall in love with it 🤔 So, I think Lockheed themed GB is the appropriate place to build my first Starfighter, and (hopefully) feel the love of these manned missile? rob Lyttle
Just got to say, there are some great results coming up now in the Finished Gallery. Probably a good few more getting a push for the finish line, and looking forward to seeing the lot, but what a great collection of Lockheed's finest...!! Beazer
Just curious as this is my first group build. Is there actual voting or do polls get put up at a later time?
