John Masters
A quick wiki told me that the BTR152 was a common vehicle for all the WarPac states from 1950 on. So that is alright. The Zil157 was only used in the USSR and the Ukraine and and only the cargo truck was produced from '58 onwards. The variants all came after 1961. Edited January 20, 2019 by John D.C. stevej60
Thank's John and Serge, pity as in both cases the command vehicle's really appealled and in the case of the Zil also the fuel bowser.
Redstaff
Some nice progress going on already here guys Just finishing off a Ferrari F189 (Nigel Mansells F1) and I'll be joining you with the Airfix Meteor F8 in 1/48th scale as soon as I can remember where I've hidden it 😂 Once I've found it I'll start a build thread and join in the fun Ian

Or is that a great excuse to buy another one? The PR.9 kit looks rather nice... At work last week we were chatting about F1 from days gone past and Mansell featured repeatedly in the conversation so I'll look out for your Ferrari if there's a thread about it
Redstaff
Thanks @Col. I have found the meteor, just need to decide on the scheme to build, will do a bit of research later and see whats what don't think I got any decals or other goodies (as yet ) Here's a link to Mr Mansells Ferrari if you care to take a look, not brilliant, but I'm happy enough with a first F1 in 30 odd years

Nah, you didn't buy it, was put there by benevolent faries as reward for all the rotten old kits and awkward conversions we've struggled with only to see replaced by newer and far superior kits. Honestly, that's what I tell my wife

That sounds familiar When I opened the box to have a look at the Meteor I found some decals for a !/48 Tornado F3 in 56 squadron markings, now that has started me thinking, because somewhere there are 2 Revell 1/48 tornados, an F3 and a GR4 🤔 😂 they're not small boxes either I really must get round to building some stuff soon 🤣
825
I'm going to be a bit ambitious with my contributions. I thought it would be good (or a bit mad) to do two pairs of aircraft, namely a Seafire and an Attacker, and a Sea Fury and a Sea Hawk. All flew in the 50s with the Fleet Air Arm in the front line in Europe and the Med, as well as the Seafire and Fury in Korea (outside the GB I know). Thus the last FAA piston engined fighter and first jet from both Supermarine and from Hawker. I got the Sea Fury, Sea Hawk and Attacker together out the stash quickly but finding a late(ish) mark Seafire that was front line and not Korea from the 50s was a challenge. I eventually got a resin F47 based at Hal Far in the early 50s before I discovered the build also included post war 40s. I've already built a F47 and I wouldn't mind avoiding resin, so I've opted for a MkXV, again based at Hal Far post war. So here are the models I've started and taken photos but it's late so I'll post up my two threads tomorrow.

Perhaps, if I finish my La-15, is it worth allowing the redeployment of the Su-7 from the Far East ( 523rd IAP, Vozdvizhenka and Spassk-Dalniy (Khvalynka) airfields of Primorsky Krai)? Exclusively to protect the gains of socialism in this GB! 😁 B.R. Serge

rafalbert
Hi guys, I am thinking about trying to address the imbalance against the Warsaw Pact by throwing in my Anigrand Bison B. I don't know anything about Anigrand paint scheme Myasishev 3M "Bison", but I see two way this problem solving: 1.Photos taken from NATO / USAF/USN aircraft intercepted Myasishev 3M "Bison" during their missions dated to the 50s. 2. Ask on Russian forum...but I don't know where. On Scalemodels.ru only good information about construction: http://walkarounds.scalemodels.ru/v/manuals/3M/ but almost nothing about service. Maybe Karopka.ru or Airforce.ru have anything, I don't know.... 15 hours ago, Col. said: two-tone grey scheme ???? What is this scheme?
