CedB
Easily done Johnny and easily fixed... I agree with others that the photo of the wheels looks soooooo realistic - well up to Spadgent standards

Buzby061
Light at the end of the tunnel. Good work on the oil spotting. I had a bash using it on a tank, might try it on my 1/72 Lanc. Pete

The Spadgent
Good evening guys. Quick update before bed. I’ve just caught up with a bunch of builds including the final steps of @TheBaron‘s wonderful iron chicken. What a stunner. Leaving me with not a lot of time for my own update. I got some pic from @isaneng showing the ammo in the tail gunners turret. I also found this online. my kit part even with the new PE and brass guns was ...... well a bit lacking. So with a few bits from the stairs box, some plasticard and a bit/lot of artistic liscence and about an hour at the bench we are here. And front. i’ll make some ammo to pop out of the top of those square tubes. I’m quite happy with that, not totally accurate but a nod in the right direction. right then I’m headed up those wooden hills. Take care guys. Bell209
Nice work. I did a bit to mine, too - you can see straight through to the rear doors of the turret otherwise - I'm surprised Eduard didn't do more to the detail kit, actually.

Lots of models show deep staining from the 2 inner engines... but then make it squeaky clean further aft. Real aircraft don’t do that.] She looks fantastic.
dave665
Looks like you've got the lights on the wings sorted Johnny. A bit late I know but I found a few more photos of the rear light assembly on the wing tip in this post on warbird information exchange. But there may be some other photos on there that you may find useful. They are from the restoration of Lancaster FM212 in Canada. Excellent work on the turret. Coming together rather nicely. Liking it a lot. Dave

rob Lyttle
Just had a good catch-up on the last week's worth.... Man, you've really nailed this, haven't you!? She looks the business up on her feet, and so atmospheric. It's like there's an "aura" around the airframe-- a little cloud of Bomber Command spirit. Can I suggest...... wheel chocks? 😀

The Spadgent
Hey chaps. Hope you’re all having a great weekend. Very nearly there now, I got an hour or two at the bench in between life things. Here’s how it went. Time has come for the masking to come off. I’m always a little bit apprehensive at this point as I’ve been burnt before by stray bits of plastic , leaks, frosting etc. let’s see what’s in the box. looking good so far. The maskol took a bit to get off, forgot to take a pic. I’ll take one from one of the other bits. I’d forgotten what the inside looked like. No stray bits and nothing has come unstuck. The Maskol is really weird to remove I got a lot of paint flakes but I guess that was inevitable. there we are all off the main canopy. I’ll do a quick flory wash when everything’s off to calm down the light edges. next off is the bombers window. I don’t know if you can see it but right in the middle of the bombers dome there are two blobs of stray plastic. I tried the static trick alas no use. Nothing for it but to prise off the whole thing and try and snag it. I managed to ease one side away and get the offending speck with some fine wire. that was tense. gators glue and a bit of tape puts everything back in place. Oh the turret got unmasked too. all the little scratch windows got unmasked, even the under lights. Time for the last bits of PE and the bits and bobs. Here are the vents things each side of the engines. Every thing got a prime. Even my scratched bullet belts and bullets. I then got mst things sprayed and set about the last assemblies. UC flaps. Exhausts. Aerials and antennae . That bar thing in the middle and those sticky out bits on the tail that always get knocked off. Quick dry fit of the props for fun. The mid turret got. A weather. And glass added. The rear turret needs to be black so I’m using the clear one and painting it up. I’ll spray then add the PE then spray again. I need to add those front guns too. Ive started looking at my stash for the next build. 🤔 something small and fun 🤔 anyway a couple more sittings should see this done I think. I have the bullets and belts to scratch, the cable cutters, the brake lines to fit. A light on the main fuselage, some aerials rear turret. Some little fins and the like. Fingers crossed this time next week I’ll be on something else. Thanks for popping by and watching this one come to a bit of an end. Almost there chaps. Have a a splendid weekend. Johnny.

giemme
Wow J, incredible how this build keeps getting better and better even in these final stages! . Also, looks like you're beating me here - I'm at the final stages with my build too, but it's gonna take me a couple of weeks more to complete it, a whole nine months all in all! Biggles87
Great unmasking, and very little damage. Ordered some Flory washes, I Wonder how long it will take me to achieve results like yours? John

corsaircorp
Another great collection of Wow and Superlatives !! Congratulations Dear Spad !! Very great Lancaster, I agree about the stains since the BBMF is a place on which the kites stay really clean ! I'm considering seriously to modify mine following the @Mancunian airman 's way and modify the height of the Bomb bay's floor... 😛😛 So, once again, You finished far ahead of my builds.... Once again, Bravo !! Your kit capture the essence of the Lancaster !! And that's more the truth when we know what lie IN your kit !! Sincerely. Bell209
Looking lovely now! Don't forget the flap and undercarriage door actuators - with all you've done so far it should be a breeze for you. Love the way your transparencies have turned out.
