Challenger 2 in Bergen

Recommended Posts

Inspired by Etienne´s amazing Challengers I thougt it was time to get some of the old Trumpeter kits out of my stash.

This is one of them, it is a cheap kit, but easy an fun to build. Great Project for a few days, and it gives you a good impression of the worlds coolest tank of our times (not the best...;)) .

I really love the Chally...

hope you like it

cheers

Tobby

Great Chally, you did a very good job with the camo net !! How did you do it ?

Cheers, E

Bonjour Etienne,

Thanks a lot.

The net is made of a German army gauze bandage, "glued" in place with green enamel color, then sprinkled with dried Oregano herbs. That was done before the tank was brushed. After the tank is painted you just paint the net... easy job.

All the best

Fantastic job Tobby!

BTW, my mate was in the 9th/12th Lancers during the 80’s and was stationed at the Bergen-Hohne garrison so as a result I’ve visited Bergen-Belsen and the beautiful neighbouring town of Celle on numerous occasions. Those were great days! (Where’s the ‘rose tinted glasses’ emoji when you need one!)

Thank you Bill.

Yes, Celle is a nice town, innit?

Oh, tinted glasses, yes, times were great and we were slim...;)

All the best.
