FortyEighter
Time for a quick update............. Upper fuselage has been sprayed gloss white (Halfords of course) and then masked off. Lower fuselage has had one coat of Alclad gloss black so far but needs at least one more

Only 3 weeks left Two steps backward and one forward - decided to overspray the black with grey and then mask off the inspar panels and wing box (rather than attempt to paint them over a metallic finish). Edges of masking have been sealed (hopefully ), so now ready for a coat of black. Not much point in posting a picture at this stage as it is either grey or covered in tape!
FortyEighter
And now the masking tape is off: This is my first attempt at "silver" on a large aircraft and I think it has come out well. For those who are interested it is Mr Color SM06 Chrome Silver Super Metallic and the wing panels are Holts HLGrey01. Remind me not to use cheap masking tape again to cover the gaps - it left a sticky residue but luckily some Isopropyl and cotton buds got rid of the mess without affecting the grey paint. Unfortunately the wing / fuselage joint has cracked on both sides - and not where it would be hidden by the wide cheat line. Hopefully this can be filled and resprayed without affecting the chrome finish.

FortyEighter
I'm not going to get this finished before midnight but a quick update: Port side just needs final set of windows and tailfin decal but a bit more to do on the starboard side Hopefully should be finished before the weekend

FortyEighter
Finally, a few photos of the finished product - although a little bit of touching up is necessary on the fin and cheatline (I found the decals very hard to slide and easy to damage)
Ventora3300
Fantastic result on this model - thanks for sharing. I'm building a 1/114 DH Comet in the Airfix GB shortly and will refer back to this to try to get a pristine finish, like wot you got! Cheers. Mike.
