Airfix 737-200 converted to -100 by shortening the fuselage. Cockpit glazing are cut out from kit and replaced with a Daco/Skyline 737 cockpit roof. Cockpit itself scratch built & crew added from railway figures. Nose & main wheel bays cut out and fitted with scratch built bays. Engines modified to early 737 style by cutting off rear sections & replacing with equivalent section from an Airfix 727, with scratch built rear pylons. Decals from classicairlines.com.

This livery was applied to the first few Lufthansa 737-100's and was used during test flying & crew training. Upon arrival in Germany, the tail was repainted Lufthansa blue, with the yellow circular 'Crane' logo. They never entered passenger service in this livery, unfortunately.

Thanks are due to Chris (Stringbag) who donated both the Daco clear section and the 727 engines, without his generosity this project is unlikely to have been completed.

Daco cockpit glazing in place of kit part. See the WiP for area needed to be cut away.

All decals are homemade. Check the WiP to see how the decals are made.

And this one finished - Great fun building these two - very tempted to do more airliners!

This one is the Daco 737-300 with WestPac Colorado Springs sponsorship. I think this one is so pretty (can you say that about an aeroplane??)
