Takom Merkava Mk1 Hybrid

Thanks for the kind comments Lloyd and Francis!

Assembly and painting is now complete, as well as basket filling. I'm not sure about the orange tarp though: I like the splash of colour but I'm not sure if the late Merkava 1 (i.e., post-Lebanon) still had them. Does anyone know about this? Israel?

The tarp and basket side pannels were done with rolled Milliput, a first for me which is actually surprisingly easy as long as you pour enough talcum powder. The advantage of Milliput to the lead foil provided is that paint adheres a lot better to Milliput, which makes it possible to paint the numbers using masks. In my last attempt with lead foil the pain would not adhere at all.

The basket panels are drilled in the corners with a 0.3mm drill bit and fixed to the basket with my daughter's hair :)

Next step is the final dusting with pigments, removal of optics masking, and of course the crew and antennae :)

Thanks,

Calling this one done, very very fun build I'll do another one (Probably the early version in Beirut) soon! More pictures to come in the finished builds section :)
