BBMF999
Hey troops, With the current absence of any 1/48 SeaKing suitable for RAF SAR livery, what is the nearest I can buy with minimal adaptation?? I’m planning one of the BEAUTIFUL yellow models ultimately.

Meanwhile BBMF999 i guess its personal choice but beautiful yellow....surely not .....junglie green is obviously prettier....but i will say mid 80s grey falklands cabs are quite attractive...gen
BBMF999
It’s the £60+ price....... seriously??? Will the US Revell kits not be similar enough with some RAF decals?!

Will the US Revell kits not be similar enough with some RAF decals?! £60+ you say, well add the basic Revell kit at around £30 (if your lucky on eBay) then sprinkle the Flightpath HAS3 conversion for the yellow peril (£30 including p+p) and a set of Whirleybird decals. Bish, bash bosh you've just spent £70. If you like kit bashing and folding and gluing etch then the Revell kits for you, remember amongst the many steps for conversion from a Sikorsky SH-3 to a Westland HAS 3 include but are not just, the cockpit, airframe window locations, Main and Tail blades modification and alteration, Sponsons and all the antennas/lumps and bumps that go with a SAR bird. Even if you are modelling an early model of the MK3 it will still need a lot of research and modification. Happy hunting.
