John
Rustins, who contract manufacture Humbrol paints for Hornby, have a note on their website saying that their warehouse was destroyed by fire on Monday evening: On the evening of Monday January 8, 2018 Rustins suffered a damaging fire at our warehouse in north London with all of our stock destroyed. The London Fire Brigade attended to put out the fire and is investigating the cause. At this point our factory appears to be in working order. We are working on our business continuity plans to liaise with our customers, suppliers and employees to get back to production as soon as possible. We will update you when we have more information and thank you in advance for your continued support. John
lasermonkey
I saw the headlines yesterday morning, but never did find out who the manufacturer was. I had a bad feeling that it may have involved Humbrol though. I'm guessing there will be a certain sense of déjà vu at Humbrol HQ.
sapperastro
Hopefully all of the duff tins have gone up in smoke.
Mike
Not a brilliant start to 2018 for the modelling companies... first Revell's parent co. goes belly up, now Humbrol's stock is probably in the stratosphere in gaseous form. At least no-one was injured... I hope?

Finally, a reliable method to spray Humbrol enamel, where are my matches....

Just pay someone to fly your next model through the cloud before it disperses. Can't guarantee the FS number will be correct, but it's probably easier than using the rattle cans
PhantomBigStu
certainly effected humbrol, lots of empty racks on the shelf of the local model shop......which was annoying as this numpty forgot he was out of xtracrylix light aircraft grey when deciding to do a grey phantom.
