The vindicator is a welcome return but a warning to all, it  was not Accurate Miniatures finest hour, it has the feel of an unfinished kit and is not of the same standard of the avenger or mitchell , the canopy is totally wrong behind the pilots station, interested to see if Academy correct the canopy issue or just do a straight re-issue Here is one i built from AM original , i corrected the canopy myself by removing the extra canopy frames, it was hard work .

So, the only new Academy a/c tooling for 2018 is a 1/72nd Grumman F-14 Tomcat kit.

Helicopters are aircraft too! There's also the 1/35 AH-1Z.

Academy seems to have cleaned up the molds extensively and modified the tooling to have sprue names on and a protection bracket  for the bomb crutch but have not corrected the extra frames on the canopy-the one thing that really needed doing but have removed the extra frames on the built up sample .

Sure Gene, it is the area directly behind the pilots cockpit, should be aluminium on the real aircraft not a glazed area , i have marked the area out on the photo below and included a picture of my build where i corrected, it isnt easy to correct glazing and it was a scary job when i paid collectors price for an out of production kit, one slip or a crack in the canopy whilst sanding and game over .
