Thank you all very much for all your comments and compliments! :)

The re-engraving of the wings involved sanding off the vortex generators.

Fortunately the Flightpath set includes etched replacements, so I spent a pleasant hour super gluing the etched parts in place, and only loosing one to the carpet monster!

I have now masked and started to paint:

Masking the intakes was fun! :swear:

I tried masking tape, thick & thin, Blu Tac, foam, and in the end I just cut some blanking plates from card.

Thanks for continuing to take an interest! :)

Again, many thanks for all the kind words :)

I'm glad you like my Victor.

Last night I embarked on a marathon masking session.

I first cut Tamiya tape into 1mm strips, and used this to mark the borders between the two colours.

Once this was done I filled in the gaps with more Tamiya tape.

I used Xtracolor enamels for the camouflage colours, so after about an hour and a half of masking, I applied the dark green.

This morning, once the paint was nice and dry, I removed a ton and a half of tape (I must buy shares in Tamiya masking tape!:D)

I also, with much trepidation, removed the card masks from the intakes and was pleasantly surprised with the results:

Now it will be the decals!

Thanks for all the support & encouragement, it's all greatly appreciated.

Thank you Martin. (I'm sure the Airfix version will be an easier build!)

Work progresses.

I have added a wash to the panel lines and I have done some panel fading.

A matt cote has been applied and the masks removed.

Next stage is dome oil streaking, and then it will be time to build the undercarriage!!!:o

I'm calling her "Done"!

I had a real battle with the main undercarriage.

I just couldn't get them to fit tin the bay without having to trim lots off to get them in the bays!

Some very  VERY  fine turned brass pitots were added to the wing tips, and now I am paranoid about knocking them off!

A bit of weathering in the form of panel fading and oil streaks.

Here are a couple of photos. I will get some clearer, brighter ones done for the RFI post.

So, in recognition of the announcement today that Airfix are releasing an all new Victor K2 tanker, I thought I would share my latest build project, The Matchbox/Revel Victor K2!

I am now going to have a lie down, and a bit of a cry :crying:

Angelo.

Just think of the money that you have saved and the modelling skills that you have gained!

Absolutely superb work there Angelo, really does look the part.  Amazing what can be done with thees old kits.
