Ozzy
Looking good with an undercoat on , the metal barrels looking good too.
exdraken
that GB is moving fast! some few days without update and your thread is in page 2!!!! so urgently some pictures of the first (actually second ) paint coat : I sued Revell 66 grey olive, I guess too grey and too littel olive to be olive drab..... no idea and no good pictures to compare it too! even natural light photos of the model do not show the color well.... I already sprayed some diluted olive on top (actually more on the sides), and it does show a bit
bull-nut
That's a fine looking Sherman there @exdraken. Nice work with the sponson fillers. Watch yourself, these 1/48 armour kits are insanely addictive! I started out with 1 or 2 and now have nearly a dozen in the stash and half a dozen finished. 1
Sgt.Squarehead
Looks like your primer issues went away.....Nice. Maybe try warming the colour up with a little Sand?
exdraken
did some more painting , rubber to the wheels, and some steel metal with a black/ rust overcoat on the tracks.... still wet probably! additionally I used the paint brush to add some variation to the surface... mixed results, probably coming form mixing colors I guess a mat overcoat will help still have to add the M2 from RB... I expect some fiddly work!! happy so far with this fast build of a totally different genre! cheers, Werner
exdraken
the M2 from RB is absolutely nice!! Tamiya parts look great already, so no need for replacement... BUT can anyone tell me what the strange "stick" is protruding vertically on the turret? some antenna? a dull coat and then I have to think if I try some mud technique...... ... ... ... ...
bull-nut
The "Stick" in question is the antenna base, it was a sprung mount so that the aerial wasn't damaged when it brushed through tree branches, hit the roof of arches, etc.
exdraken
thanks guys! anything that is an absolute no-go with my Sherman? - you know, I am a tank newbie anything I urgently need to change? still time! markings are from the Tamiya kit, some mix of what the box provided..... l

The markings look Good to me, some units had stars on the hull others on the turret. After a few months in Europe some units painted over the White stars as they found the Germans aimed there weapons at them.
Badder
Looking good for a first ever tank build. Personally, I'd have put the circled-star decal on the rear deck - spreading the 'interest' around a bit. But other than that I can't fault it. Sgt.Squarehead
Looks spot on to me.....Doubly so for a first AFV build. If you want to customise your model a bit, stowage is always a good bet, a few items with a pink air-recognition panel draped over them might look good? exdraken
thanks! I'd say it is done then! no stowage available at my place (I have ton of spares for plane models though....), and I think for the first one, that is enough next time! was a great BM GB experience again, thanks for hosting and commenting, thanks everybody for watching and giving me all the advice I urgently needed! Sgt.Squarehead
Bravo sir! Fair play on the stowage, looks just fine without it.
Ozzy
Nice one Werner, welcome to the dark side what are you going to build next?
Badder
Nice job Werner. A bit grey in most of the phots, but the lighting really brings out the colour in the last one. I hope you continue here on the dark side, because I'm sure your next ones will be even better. Rearguards, Badder
