I remember a couple of these Lets being based at Southend Airport back in the 1980s. Then I saw that one of the decal options is for one of these aircraft and indeed on the box art.

No brainer! KPs cash register goes ker-ching. Must say, it's a very nice kit!

Depending on how much accuracy you want, you could have rather more work on your hands with the kits that feature British registered aircraft.

I was looking at those kits when I bought my Z-37 kit a week or so ago. both kits have exactly the same plastic. However, as you can see from the box art, the window configuration aft of the cockpit is different between them.

The kit has clear parts for the smaller, square window version, but it uses decals to represent the larger windows of the British registered version. As they are fairly big windows, decals don't do a really convincing job of representing them.

Also, a good part of the aircraft's seed and spray hopper could be seen though those larger windows and you'd have to scratchbuild some representation of that if you decided to use the window decals as patterns for acetate replacements as the kit doesn't have a hopper.

Upnorth;

Thanks for the information. I know very little about these aircraft, so at least I can do some research into the differences now. I don't mind a bit of alteration or scratch building, so I will attempt to correct the plastic to how it should look. Thanks again for pointing this out...I would have missed it.

No problem, Steve.

The more I look at my kit, the more it looks like it was rushed out the door. Given that news of Eduard's impending Z-37 kit has broken recently lends credence to that possibility. It seems Eduard bought the Z-37 kit design from someone else after the KP kit hit the shelves.

There's a lot of finer details, like steps and handholds that KP seems to have left to the aftermarket and scratchbuilders to tend to. Apparently, there will be some PE produced for the kit by Marabu Design in September sometime (that is according to what Jan Polc told me in the AZ/KP discussion thread).

You can keep an eye out for the sets on the Marabu website:

I sent some of my Z-37 reference photos to Julien for use in the photo gallery section, so hopefully he'll post them soon.

The last opportunity for the Kovozávody Prostějov Z-37 kits to be alone on the market as they are facing the soon release from the Eduard Čmelák kit (link)...

New boxing - announced new tool as produced with upgraded (new?) moulds - compare with the pictures: link. Wait and see.

(...) I přes Šulcovo rozsáhlé PŠM (politické školení mužstva) je tento oblíbený model prvního tradičního výrobce stále v kursu. Short-runová forma už má něco za sebou , takže jsme provedli nutné opravy a úpravy povrchu. (...)

Googled:

(...) Despite Šulc's extensive PŠM (political training of the team), this popular model of the first traditional manufacturer is still in the course. The short-run form already has something behind it, so we made the necessary repairs and surface adjustments. (...)

We have the Polish gift to Soviet agriculture - the jet powered M-15 Belphegor - it is rather large and I am surprised that Amodel haven`t blessed us with a 1:72 kit of this monster since they appears to like strange aircraft.

M-15 is the world's only jet agricultural aircraft (i.e., the world's only jet cropduster), as well as the world's only jet biplane and the world's slowest jet aircraft, at least amongst aircraft that have been put in mass production.
