JWM the 2017 yearbook

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This year I finished 21 models. All are airplanes 1935-45, 1/72.

The score is high for me. I am doing models from early seventies XX C, however in years 1983-91 I had a break. After returning in the end of 1991 till 1993 I did 33 and after it I have notes about each year score. Namely, starting from 1994 a yearly scores were following: 11, 21, 13, 16, 13, 7, 8, 6, 6, 11, 15, 24, 8, 11, 6, 6, 2, 0, 6, 7, 16, 18, 21. The minima: 2 for 2011 and 0 for 2012 are due to construction of our new house...

All of this year were on RFI.

The first was Douglas O2MC2 by Ardpol (resin) from China, 1937

Currently I am working on Hoever MF 11 (Broplan, vacu ) - like two hydroplanes it is within floatpalned GN. I do not think that I will end it till 1st January, so I hope to publish it in next yearbook (and earlier in GB gallery and RFI)

Coments welcome and have happy New Year with many completed and enjofull builds

Dennis, many thanks! I have also a lot of fun of finding that all not obvious topics for modelling. Finding those bizzares is with some help of my Brother, who for years worked in Krakow Museum of Aviation and wrote some Polish monographs books for some types.  However it has a price - hard to belive that after almost 50 years of modelling mostly WWII airplanes I still do not have any Ju-88 on shelvs. I did one in schooldays but went to people. Five or six are in stash.

Stew, many thanks! I would say that 21 is a high score and thank you that you've notice that they were rather labour ones. My the highest score (2006) year with 24 models finished contains some Hasegawa monoplanes (Ki 15, Ki 51) along with scrtach conversions like Junkers G24 he or Junkers K43.

Regards

Jerzy-Wojtek

That's a good year's worth! That's a lot of very sharp rigging too. Looking at your selection is very educational - I haven't even heard of some of the types before. Although it would be wrong to have favourites from such a spectacular collection, I particularly love the whitewashed Polikarpov R-5 Limousine, the Ripon and the immaculate NMF B-29 :)

Adrian

Many thanks Andrian. R5 in winter camo is perhaps also one of closses to my heart from this set. I am glad that you like Ripon and B-29. The last one was very long build - I started her in Christmas 2014...

All very nice, the He-115 is a real peach.

Thank you very much Simon.  When I've seen photo of camouflaged Norwegian "52" in Net and then drawings by Kjetil Akra, here on BM, in WWII planes section - I simply had to do her!

Regards  and greetings from Krakow

Many thanks Roman and Stix for your comments. My stash is still containing some off-main stream machines, so I am going to continue ;)

Hi Jerzy!

Indeed a lot of nice models. I amire your productivity! Think it would have taken me the whole year just to build the B-29. Have two of them (Airfix and Academy) in the stash for years... My output in 2017 was only six finished builds (but a lot more started:D).

Cheers,

Thanks Mario! I was constructing this B29 (OK - with long breaks in between) since Christmas 2014, lucky finished in September 2017!

Cheers
