I 'think' the gun is finished???  Well I can't see anything else to do - so it's matt varnish time...

OK I finally plucked up the courage to put the dusty coat on the chassis...

Its drying now - so I'm off to ASDA shortly for the weekly shop and when I get back I'll give it a bit of a wipe with a stiff bristled brush and give the troops a bit of a rub down with a damp sponge.

After that it's the final job of a matt sealing varnish - nearly there - 3 weeks or so - not bad for me...

Just now, Mike said:

Another one for the 2018 Yearbook when it arrives... I like the finish on the tracks - quite effective :)

Cheers Mike - it's the first for 2018 - but it is a 'double header' with the gun - blimey I forgot to take snaps of the finished gun and the carrier with the canopy on 'temporarily'

I'll be back - very shortly...

Here she is with the canopy on - I wish I'd put more effort into that canopy now - it looks quite good - but could have been much better - but then again you can't see what's insode when it's on...

I wonder if it's worth repainting the tilt

I put the two gun pieces together - but forgot to take some pictures - this was actually a real fun part of the kit for me...

Whoops - I also forgot the gun crew - well it is late...

...this really slowed down the build - but it was something you can just 'dip into' for a few minutes at a time - so quite relaxing.  Here they are...

They all balance quite well without having a base - as long as they are on a flat surface.  But guess what - tip one over and they go down like dominoes

Well I think that just about rounds it up - it is getting very late.  As usual I can't resist the penny shot...

and here they are together...

I'm getting quite a little army going now...

Another nice addition to your little unit. I eagerly anticipate your next build- any ideas what it will be?

Funny you should say that...

I have plenty to go at and as usual at this stage - I'm a little undecided - here are the immediate choices...

  • Cromwell Tank
  • 25pdr gun with Quad Carrier
  • Willy's Jeep
  • Universal Carrier
  • Bedford QLR Radio Truck
  • 15cwt Chevrolet Lorry
  • British Infantry

...any requests

I was just looking at the Airfix Cromwell - I know you built one recently and I'm very tempted... what do you think???

My knowledge of German AFV's is non existent at present - but they do have 'sexy' paint jobs - what are they???

Aye up Steve.

They be Pz IV's.

Cracking job all round on the gun, carrier and figures. Really like the weathering

Why not go for one of the trucks you have for a bit of variety? :coolio:

Regards.

I just used it cause I think that eventually you might need an opposing team or theses boys are going to get a little bored, playing with themselves.

I think you should do a big dio for them.

Steve

How about this for a bit of 'psychology'...

All the things I have built recently don't have 'windows'...

I've really enjoyed building them...

All my recent aircraft builds have been 'plagued' with problems centring on the 'canopies'...

They have spoilt the fun of those builds...

...so Doctor - what do you think - do I have a problem :mental:have I finally 'lost it'
