John R
This is a deliberate duplicate of one in the WWII section because although that is correct chronologically the a/c belongs to the jet age and I might find more people here who know the answer. If anybody does please reply to the link below rather than here John
71chally
There's a couple of images online that show LZ548 early on, you can clearly make out the underwing roundel but nothing else obvious such as the serial
Work In Progress
There were no underwing serials on prototypes during WW2.
canberra kid
It's not easy to see, but I've lightened the image as much as I can and there doesn't appear to to be any markings at all on the underside. It looks like a medium sea grey top side with Yellow or PRU Blue(?) underside. John
Corsairfoxfouruncle
Im not an expert by any shake of the stick. My guess would say PRU blue. The circle P prototype symbol should be Yellow correct ? If that is yellow then its lighter than the underside color. When I blow up the photo i can see the “P” against the bottom color. John R
Did it have a pitot on the port wing when it first flew?
canberra kid
I would say so. John
John R
There is a picture showing 3/4 rear view of the prototype and I reckoned I could just make out part of a straight 'something' where I would expect a pitot to be but could not be certain. Also I have decided to go for a silver underside John
