825
The Gladiator is nearly done and the Phamtom is flying along almost ready for painting so I thought I'd go for this. classic instructions Sprues with diorama bases Edited December 30, 2017 by 825

825
Got some paint on. Revell Afrika Brown and Akan Dark Rubber for the tyres. Matchbox engineered this kit with separate tyres and hubs. I recall Airfix also doing this back in the 60s and 70s and it makes painting so much easier, especially if there are a lot of wheels. Like this little machine. The mouldings are crisp and neat This is the only moulding flaw I've found. And flash flash is minimal, again this all I've found so far. You can see that apart from the axle ends there is nothing and that includes all the tubular parts.
825
Put the body together, cleaned up the axles/differentials and glued them too. Fit isn't perfect. The plastic is the harder Revell plastic rather than the slightly softer silver MB or hard multi colour MB. It takes a bit of time for the Tamiya Extra Thin glue I use to 'bite' and everything wobbles for a long time. I've decided to have a break and let everything harden up 825 junior came back from uni yesterday so we will go for a dad/son lunch while Mrs 825 is away getting her hair done. Lovely sunny winter weather here in SW London so should be a nice day.
825
Body pretty well complete. A few rough edges sanded down. I'll leave it to dry and form up over night. Tyres painted and given a coat of matt varnish Edited December 19, 2017 by 825 Re-embed pictures

I often forget that AFVs in 1:72/76 go together so much quicker than planes. They also are a lot easier to paint. No masking or complex canopies. 825
Another coat of paint on and awaiting wheels. Some touching up needed and with the wheels on
825
Wheels painted and aerial rig glued back on for the umpteenth time. It's quite strong but then just goes. Only the tools and the mirrors to go. I've also glued the diorama parts together. They look quite European but let's see what a few coats of sandy/earthy colours do.
825
Here is the diorama base, now painted, as Matchbox intended. And here it is unencumbered with some brown/sand/earth paint colours on. Some washing and dry brushing probably requiteed
825
Pretty well done. The little bits glued on, including the lovely tools. Transfers from the kit used, although probably a bit free style, but something needed to break up the sand colour. I will give it a dry brush of light sand before posting in the gallery.
Peter Lloyd
Not a moulding flaw, Colonel Fritz's men never liked him, and judged it best that he not lead them into battle.
