2017 Cold War Collection

Recommended Posts

2017 has been a slow year on the modelling front. I have been pretty busy elsewhere which has drastically reduced my bench time. Hopefully you will appreciate what I have managed to finish. Please leave any comments you have and thanks for looking!

I particularly like the LIghtning. It takes me back to watching the airshows at RAF Leuchars in the 1970's where I watched a whole squadron of Lightnings scramble ( what a noise ), perform ground attacks with pyros and seeing two hook up to a Victor tanker. Shame the RAF doesn't have enough money or aeroplanes to do stuff like that now. The Sea Vixen is another favourite, and nicely done.

Well there may only be four but they are really stunning. I was going to say the Lightning was my favourite then I looked at them all again and decided I think they are all my favourite! :worthy::worthy::worthy:

Kind regards,

Stix

Cheers Stix, hopefully I can knock a few more out in 2018!

superbly made, Sea Vixen my favourite, almost Sci fi in looks, so unusual in it's appearance 😊

It's a great looking aircraft. I was lucky enough to see it flying a few years ago and it left a big impression.

......what I would do to be able to time travel back and see one of those airshows!

These models take me straight back to those shows. Here's another blurry snap of the type of display we'll never see again.

Very nice collection DAG, the Lightning and the sea Vixen look fantastic.

Cheers Ozzy, I'm glad you like them. Plenty more Lightnings in the stash too!

Lightning looks lovely! I want to build another one myself sometime - my first didn't come out as well as I'd like, paint was too dark, but I like the look or yours.

Thanks! I am hoping try a NMF Lightning this year. There are a few F.1s in the stash that would fit the bill.

Superb builds in every way!

That formation refueling shot reminds me of a story in the EDP the other day where they thought some Typhoons were "escorting" a civil airliner!
