theplasticsurgeon
Rejoining with this kit. This box is dated 1973, so pre-dates the service entry for the Jaguar. Acquired from a work colleague earlier this year for £5. Here is what the parts look like. I'm scouring my spares for decals that are better than those. nimrod54
Tim If you are struggling I have decals for this scheme on an Xtradecal sheet (X026-72) which may be an interesting subject, seen here Jaguar GR1. There are only enough roundels for one subject so you would still have to source the relevant sizes of those, but I think that there may be enough stencil data for each subject on the sheet. PM me if you are interested.
theplasticsurgeon
Here's the seat. Having seen Dermot's seats, I stuck another inside it - complete with pilot. Then assembled the fuselage around it.

Unfortunately, there are leftovers from over 600 builds in that box, and I can't find them now. I've also asked a Jet Age colleague - so I'll pass for the time being.
theplasticsurgeon
Fully agreeing with this summary for the Matchbox kit on Thunder and Lightnings what a pile of junk! Very simple shape, no cooler intake in the spine. No hook. Only a vague resemblance to the Jaguar. Mine will be stand mounted in flight - something like this: And clean - 'cos the included weapons look, well fictional!

theplasticsurgeon
Just now, speedy said: Memories of yesteryear. What's the pod on the centreline pylon, is it real? I just looked at the parts. That one looks like a SNEB pod - with a long streamlined tail fairing. Mine is still a clean build.
