stevej60
Hi folk's,this is definitely my last entry here's the story,my mother in law's Christmas present tends to be a model,"just get one you want" being the mantra,I tend to keep it around the twenty quid mark so I'm happy and she's not spent a fortune(last years Airfix Gnat/Hawk red arrows is still not started and was a mere £12:99) anyway much as I was tempted to grab a Heyford this one came in at £14:99 at Wonderland Models so definitely a post Christmas build as once it arrives it will go to her for wrapping up for the big day.
Rabbit Leader
Steve, Although I really get along with my MIL, she's no way near as cool as yours - wanna swap!! Now you've done it. Seeing you build this up will no doubt get me all worked up to build mine - and this was no way near the top of my planned 2018 build queue. She'll be a beaut.. good luck. Cheers.. Dave.
Ventora3300
Love the shape and look of this aircraft. Noticed the BM logo on the boxing - I wonder if that means 'recommended by' or something along those lines?
Arniec
Great choice Steve. I converted one a few years back to a B mk. 1. That took some time but was worth it in the end. Have a great build. Cheers,

Now I see, the logo was added on the pic by the BM 'reviewer'. Looking at ebay, you can currently 'buy now' a Matchbox original for £20: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/L90-Matchbox-Model-Kit-PK-551-Handley-Page-Victor-K2-1-72/253248590704?epid=1905484003&hash=item3af6cad370:g:njAAAOSwCMFaAuic or start bidding for this one currently at £8.50 - where will it end up, I wonder? (Not with me because this is actually one of the kits I have!) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-72-HANDLEY-PAGE-VICTOR-K2-MATCHBOX-PK-551-3-COLOUR-KIT-RAF-V-FORCE-BOMBER/302547628726?hash=item46713e72b6:g:VEMAAOSwCtJaHtkQ

nimrod54
Steve, I remember putting the Matchbox boxing together many years ago and purchased a Revell kit a couple of years back. As @Rabbit Leader has said, watching this build will no doubt make me want to put that together, but I must resist. Roll on Christmas.

Cheer's John, I built it years ago in the Camoflage over white scheme but I quite fancy the "sand" scheme might be interesting to weather.

stevej60
Hi folk's start made, cockpit as is apart from the scrapsprue along the rear bulkhead just to add a bit of detail to the crew's work area, once painted I'll add somedecal's to busy it up although very little is seen through the glazing once painted.
stevej60
Morning folk's,event's over the last few week's have made me take another look at what time I,ve got to finish this in time, as some may know I had a young lady crash into my car three week's before Christmas which meant hire cars, loosing mine as a write off and in the week before Christmas trying to find a replacement which I did but on Christmas eve it broke down and the holiday's meant borrowing a friend's to run the family around etc. Anyway all's well now but where I was planning just to have this kit as my sole January project I still have four to bring in so I'm holding of on her,I think now I've cut plastic the kit deserves more time to add detail and improve some area's especially as it was a present so I'll ask the Mod's to move it to WIP when the GB end's. 1
Arniec
I am sorry to hear that Steve, but I do understand it. It is a nice kit, so take your time with it. Cheers,
