I'm pretty sure a ten inch total

Doing a bit of looking into this and it appears the author has mistaken centimetres for inches. All info I have is that the offset was 2 inches.See also here:

  1.

9 Aug 2006 - The modeller can accurately 'offset' the two Ejector Seats 2-inches either side of the cockpit centreline if wished (front seat 0.7mm to port; rear seat 0.7mm to starboard).

Cracking work Massimo, that Bucc cockpit detail is superb.

The windscreen and canopy didn't have any offset, being central.

I have to agree with Perdu, the seats were offset 2 inches each, have never heard of them being angled.  That's not to say that they weren't.

I went through the pictures I found on the net and I have to say the pilot seat seems ( and I underline Seems!!!)  well above two inches offset, as the picture beow shows.

Even the pedals and the front panel and cover (what's the name of the part under the windscreen?:tmi:)look much more offset...anyway 0,7 is the official translation of 2inches (2x25,4:72) in this scale.

Noted!

Hallo again,

tonight I started by building the front starboard consolle.

Then I added some blocks to be used as locating pins for the floor. This will help keeping the two fuselge halves aligned and make things stronger once everything is glued together!

This is what it looks like once together.

That's it for tonight.

Good evening,

before going to bed , a small update.

Tonight I finally concentrated on the navigator's starboard consolle.

The problem is that among the few picture I found, none of them are showing the same instruments' layout!!!:rage::swear::wall::headbang:

considering that all those pictures are hiding the same area...:rage::swear::wall::headbang:...I decided to find a compromise and this is what I came up with:

Next step...pedals, seats and instruments' panels. But now I'm ready for bed!!!

Gunnai!

I'm not sure if you saw this one that Phone Phixer found for my build, it helped me a lot

img235.jpg

I needed to ignore item 10 for my S1, you do not need to for the S2

bill

Sure I didn't!!!

This will be veeeeery helpful!!! Thanks Bill and thanks phone phixer!!!

Good morning,

these days I like the thrill of not being in time for the taxi to work, thus this morning I decised to have a go with the pedals.

R4f39TL.jpg

First I drilled four holes in two different pieces of styrene and from them I filed until Igot two slots.

SmLT2kj.jpg

then i glued them to other two piecesand let them set while having breakfast.

qxrQE7M.jpg

After breakfast I trimmed and shaped them, then I added two bits of rod I had previously filed on one side.

is3dt0E.jpg

On a piece of tape I glued some bits of rod, to create the pedals holding system (Nobody will ever see it!!!)

mL6galh.jpg

Then I cut a piece of thick styrene, which will represent the frame to which the pedalling system is fitted, and I glued it to the floor, followed by pedals and arm (Nobody will ever see it!!!)

hvN95pO.jpg

This is the wiew from the top. The all thind is slightly offset to port, to match with the pilot’s seat.

Then I got down to the hotel reception…and the taxi was already there!!!

Looks like you have some some trouble with pics, but anyway your last one pretty much summarize the incredible scratch building you did in this cockpit :worthy:

That’s looking superb, Massimo.

You have clearly mastered this port & starboard business; we’ll make a matelot of you yet!  But this is a Naval build, so less of this “Nav” nonsense.  Naval aircraft have Observers; the Navigator is some Fish-Head bloke on the bridge of the ship.

Fab modelling!

A matelot from the Appennino Emiliano, that'd be nice to see :)

BTW Crisp, how's your wrist doing?

It’s boring, but no worse.  I am actually sitting in the hospital waiting room as I write, waiting for them to do whatever they do to assess how it is going.  I expect at least another 2 weeks with only one hand.

Italian matelots are by no means unheard of: Amerigo Vespucci & Cristofero Columbo didn’t do too badly between them...

Fingers crossed then, Crisp.

Sure, but mine was a lame attempt at some humor, since Massimo is from a part of Italy which is not really known for matelots or anything related to sea and/or Navy  :D
