My Telford sin... Supermarine Walrus

Recommended Posts

Hello Dears,

Did I've been a good guy in Telford ??

Have a look...

WP_20171112_19_00_45_Pro

To my point of view... Yes, I've been, but I'm not sure that SWMBO will agree...:P:P

Will be curious to know how many of the 1/48 Walrus have been sold this year in SMW ???

And some trainer Harrier too.....

And today, I started her

WP_20171117_20_41_52_Pro

Cleaning up the ejection pin

WP_20171117_20_42_33_Pro

This is really a great kit...

I asked the Airfix guys about the next 1/48 kits...

Seemingly we will not hav the Avro Bison or Blackburn Ripon next year !!

What a lack of good taste..

But a Beaufort is possible in a near future, The Blenheim is sure and will be great...

But No Stirling or Hampden..... Damn it !!

Sincerely.

@corsaircorp, you’re going to love this: I’m a couple of weeks ahead of you, and it is one of the best kits I have built in a very long time.  Like all CAD-era kits, it’s engineered with very tight tolerances, so be careful not to get too much paint on any joining surfaces.

But mostly it’s great; enjoy!

My sin. I missed Telford this year as I promised 825 Junior that I would come and watch the opening game of his University American Football season. It gets worse, it was in Birmingham, only 40 minutes away from SMW, he wasn't able to play as he was injured and they got thumped.

Ah well, saved me a bit of money, eliminated SWMBO ire and there's always next year.

A nice collection the CC. In most cases, our 'other halves' believe we're are sinners...they just don't understand.

Anyway, my purchases from Telford:

IMG_7882.jpg

Land, sea and air bases are all covered. I thought it was about time to support my avatar and username by getting 7 sub kits with an MTB thrown in. Air was covered by a number of aircraft kits, the best one being a Nightjar naval fighter by Blue Rider and a Plover, supported by Colourcoat paints and Buccaneer pitot/ probe. The 'accidental' find was a 1/24 Morris Minor resin kit that needed a Mini kit for support, this will keep the 'other half' happy.

Some of you chaps have a very strange idea of sin. As far as I can see you have been very good boys indeed. Carry on everybody, you've all done very well!

Nice haul from Telford mate and a lovely start to the Walrus!

One question though, where's the trainer Harrier you mentioned?

Hello Mav,

Did'nt buy it for myself, but it was Under the arms of lots of peoples !

I'm busy enough with my SHar I, GR 9, and will have a FAW 2 before looking for a trainer...

Sorry.

Oh ok mate haha sorry I ask as its my favourite aircraft.

I was looking for a Royal Navy T.2 in 72nd but didn't find anything in my scale so ended up with an AV-8B and another GR.7/9!

It's quite a stack compared to my meagre haul of a couple of kits (one of which was an accident - don't ask). :)

That's because you spent more time hiding from me than shopping!

We're working on the shirts.  I was wearing the prototype with the wrong colour blue in the roundel on the front.  We're going to do some t-shirts first, with the logo on the front in some decent colour shirts to suit those that abhor light colours :)  Bear with us though, as these things take time ;)
