Army_Air_Force
Before the whole thing was finished, I also wanted to modify the Bantam trailer kit, as there were a few differences here. My trailer is a Dutch copy of the Bantam trailer, made by the Roset company. It is basically the same trailer, but with a few small differences in addition to the changes I'd made myself. The Jerrycan and bracket from the Jeep were glued to the trailer body as I had done on the real trailer. Rather than the long straight towing eye, the Roset trailer has a shorter raised eye, seen in the corner of this picture, so the kit was modified to suit. If I'd been building the trailer from the kit, rather than reworking an already built model, I may have replaced the 'A' frome on the front of the trailer with channel section, rather than the solid moulded frame of the kit chassis. Army_Air_Force
On the front of the trailer, a handbrake lever and linkages were added. and on the back, a plate for the registration and the light clusters made. After some final markings and touch ups, it was all done! Edited October 23, 2020 by Army_Air_Force

Army_Air_Force
Having a 'Follow Me' Jeep has got me into some great photo opportunities over the years, including spending an airshow doing 'Follow Me' duties, leading WW2 fighters from the runway to the dispersal area. Maurice Hammonds P-51 at Breighton aerodrome in 2009. That Mustang prop looks very big as it follows the Jeep, seen here through the rear window. Army_Air_Force
So, for a model that was never planned as a proper build, it turned out quite well and a bit different from the usual. I followed the Jeep up with a 1/35 scale Dodge, which I'm yet to post any details of. Perhaps one day I'll model my third vehicle, the 1943 Ford GPW.
