nuuumannn
About an hour outside Shanghai is Oriental Land, a real odd amusement park type place that has some interesting military hardware, including a full scale aircraft carrier mock up! The place is truly bizarre. Images and a link to more pictures. read the descriptions under the images on my page, which will give you more info. Gorby
That is truly remarkable! A full size mock-up aircraft carrier! Is it always that deserted? Thanks for the excellent photos.

nuuumannn
Hi Gorby, surprisingly, it wasn't too busy the day I went, but it was an exception. At the various places I went in China, they were all crowded and heaving with people. Inside the 'carrier' there were several squads of young uniformed cadets, which made up for the lack of visitors. Part of the problem with Oriental Land is that it flies below the radar as an attraction and there is no way of getting there if you don't have a car. The Shanghai underground rail is extending the network to get there. It needs it as it's over an hour's drive from Shanghai. 1
