VMA131Marine
Here is my latest completion: it's the new-ish tool Airfix 1/72 A6M2 Zero from the original release boxing. I took some liberties with the camo scheme, painting it like an A6M5; since this aircraft was from a training squadron later in the war, I figured that was reasonable. I am aware that the underside colour should probably be trainer orange yellow, but went with Gunze IJN Grey anyway. Paint chipping was accomplished with a silver pencil. It's the first time I've tried this and, while my technique still needs some work, I'm happy with this as my first attempt. It is easier than trying to dab random blobs of silver paint. Hope you like it! Stew Dapple
Nice job mate Looks like you got the transfers to settle down nicely too, did you use any setting solution on them? Cheers, Stew
DennisTheBear
Nice! I've seen profiles of A6M2 with green upper camo so it looks fine to me. DennisTheBear

Cheers, Stew Thanks, Stew! The decals worked great! Printed by cartograph as all of Airfix's newest decals seem to be. I used Microsol on some of the larger ones as I was a bit worried about them silvering, even after I applied a coat of Aqua Gloss. In the end, if there is any silvering, I can't see it.

IanC
Fantastic. I think the grey and green ones look better than the overall grey/beige/white/amber/whatever colour it was ones!
kapam
Excellent work. The paint chipping looks spot-on to me.
