PlaStix
Excellent progress and that camo looks like it's going to be great! Very nicely done. Kind regards, Stix
Blaubar
That is a quite prominent roadwheel party going on there... Awesome!
Soeren
Indeed I am quite happy with the way the basic painting of these wheels turned out. Overall steel rimmed Tiger wheels are much faster to do than the rubber rimmed ones. As a matter of brain softening I just ordered a Tiger Fehrmann by Academy. With the spares from the previous Academy kit I can also modify it to rubber rimmed wheels. But still, the approach of working with several layers really helps with the appearance of the wheels details.
Soeren
I was a bit itchy about the Academy camo scheme, until I just found this When you take for granted that the color artist takes a much more clean and "Computer assisted" approach, I would say it is quite accurate. Then again, no idea what it was like on top.
Soeren
Yesterday I put the camo Putty on, left it alone for 24h and today sprayed the camo on, now it is abour 50% done
Soeren
So, now I got the missing part to finish the 1/16 scale turret together with some more usefull stuff ;=
Soeren
Yes, I know, you were wondering what the last bit to be added to the turret roof actually was. It was the close defense weapon
FrancisGL
Nice progress for now, and nice "additional" stuff..., cheers mate
Soeren
Cheers Francis This is where we are now. I am looking forward to the single coloured builds in the future. I am now ready for decals and detail paintign plus filters. I like it as is now, but that was some time consuming precedure so far to paint this camo. First putty for a start Then take it off and start filling in the fields
Kris B
Lots of work with masking, but final effect was worth of it.

Soeren
Thank you guys The decals worked quite well, with a dozen coats of MicroSol. Wouldnt have workes any other way to get the one poece numbers down of the surface at the turret. Most of the detail painting done. Touchups needed here and there. The cables on top have wuite bad structure. Well.
Gremlin56
Have you tried Mr. Mark Softer and Mr. Mark Setter for decals Soeren? Seem to be a bit "hotter" than the Mirosol and Microset. Nice work on the camo, Panzer putty is great stuff to work with IMHO.
Soeren
Thanks Gremlin, Until now I am very happy with the Microsol/Set stuff. Now after letting the matt varnish dry over night the numberss almost look like painted on.

Soeren
Also, they cost me 6-7€ each and as you said, as long as these work. And I guess they will last decades unless I tip them over.

Mark Hoffmanly
All those extra bolts added to the crew storage really makes the model pop! Great job so far, and keep it up. Mark
Soeren
The rivets, and all the other details, look much better now with the common color. I hope to find the time for painting this weekend :).

Which color is it to take, all are from the color callout except for the Hemp, that is Vallejos equivalent to the left color. now convert these to B&W with different addition of filters, yellow, orange and red maybe? And I should read the rest of the thread before replying..... Edited December 8, 2017 by Bozothenutter stupidity

PlaStix
You have certainly made excellent progress since the last time I visited your thread. That camo work is especially impressive! Kind regards, Stix
Soeren
Thank you Stix It turned out different than what I would have expected, but as of now, I like it. Just have to make up my mind regards weathering. But that might need also a decision for the vignette.
