An email from Airfix tells me the Blenheims have arrived at the warehouse and pre-orders will be shipping.  Yippee!!!

The boat from India must have been late arriving,  shed loads would have sold at Telford.

I'll bet Airfix would have preferred to have had the kit there with the traders too.

Sadly, once loaded and at sea it's in the lap of the Gods.

Similar to the TSR2 initial release, at least this one will be available for Christmas.

Blenheim Mk.IV and HP Hampden in 1/48 by good old Airfix would be great, wouldn't it?!

Absolutely, but this isn't a wishlist thread, it's for the "existing" Blenheim. :)

Enjoying building mine at the moment but can anyone explain why the word DONLOR is written on the tyres and not DUNLOP? I assume it's an 'in joke' from Airfix?

A bit like the morse code on the inside of the Wellington wings....Just curious....

If they put DUNLOP on it they would need to pay for the use.

And it's nice an easy to scrape of the small part of the R to read Dunlop. A lot better than what Eduard ( I think it was them ) did and put Dunlup on their tyres which is hard to correct.

Ah, right, interesting So how does Barracuda get away with putting it on his then? Yes, that's what I intend to do but just curious..

I guess Roy either pays for it ( or has some sort of deal ) or Dunlop haven't noticed yet...

Dunlop might not even care, but some companies like Airfix may be just covering themselves from problems in the future if a company wants to start trying to get money out of them ( or insist that all the kits have their name removed ).

Barracudacals is a really small fry,  they make specialist parts in small runs,  not obscure on a highly specialised modelling site, but in the wider world, unknown.  Airfix are a household name,  and it might get noticed.

I'd have thought that it was free advertising myself, but there some very stupid and greedy beancounters out there.....

Not really my thing (distinct lack of deck hook folding wings and Royal Navy above the serial number) but I'll be sure to get one

so Airfix has some money in the tin to produce things with the aforementioned good bits.

You could always do a what if - scratch build an arrestor hook,  scribe a wing fold, paint it in navy colours and some spurious FAA decals- jobs a good 'un!!!!👍
