As we approach the halfway mark, @Enzo Matrix better start thinking about some sturdy fencing around the GB area. To keep all these big cats in one place, as we don't want them mauling any of the builds from other areas.:cat:

Joking aside, that gives me an idea!

How about an inter-forum GB PUNCH-UP?    .AFVs vs Aircraft.....

Tiger tanks vs Tiger Moths?

Flame-throwing Tanks vs Spitfires?

Wirbelwinds/flakpanzers vs Hurricanes, typhoons, tempests

etc...

I'll do this colour scheme:

January 2019 is the earliest available slot.

If this STGB gets enough signups (and I'm sure it will) can we make sure it doesn’t overlap with the Pz.IV STGB? It would be a shame to have both AFV GBs on at the same time.

Kind regards,

Stix

A conditional yes from me, I have a couple of Airfix kits in stock, one of which is to wear a resin Henschel(?) turret. So depending on the when & the state of my GB mojo, I'd be keen.

Steve.

I was thinking along similar lines myself.  The Panzer IV STGB ends on 17 Mar 2019.  Maybe give it a month or so for the dust to settle and go for a start date toward the end of April 2019.

That sounds like a good plan! Thank you Enzo.

I have a reasonable amount of the latter, spoilt for choice with former, I could actually do a full company of Tiger Is or IIs!  :mental:

PS - IMHO VK.45-02 should be added to the list of eligible subjects.

Will do sarge.

:welcome:Steve looking forward to seeing your builds, there is nothing like an Airfix kit for a mojo restorer.

Tiger I, initial, early, mid, late.

and there were quite a few weird hybrid versions with mid-production hulls but late-production running gear.

Definitely any combination of the above, as a late war refitted tiger had a mixed bag of parts.

I have a Trumpeter 1:16 King Tiger but I think it might be a little too much for my first build.

:welcome:Sparts, you get 3 months to build what ever you desire. There is also a 25% rule depending on how much extra detail you wish to add, meaning you can start the kit prior to the start date as long as the build is 25% complete.

:welcome: good man Glynn, I've used the Tamyia sticker Zimmermit myself on a Dragon kit, you get 2 variants of zimmermit  and being clear you can still see the holes. They also stick down nicely.

I'm in, I've got a bagged cheap Airfix Tiger kit - after getting the Haynes manual.

Currently residing in a box with an 88mm flak gun - so that I can find it when the time comes.

Airfix_Tiger.jpg

I'm told that somewhere on Britmodeller is a reference to an improved build of this kit.

Don't know if I can squeeze an armour build in three months, but here we go, count me in, please.

:welcome:theplasticsurgeon, I will lookout for the Haynes manual for Tigers. That would make a nice Christmas present.

I don't see myself having time next year, but possibly 2019, so in that case, put me down for a Tiger.
