Glad it made you laugh, that was the general reaction.

Great show, grabbed a couple of bargains, thoroughly enjoyed meeting many modellers of all nations.

I didn't Keith

Farthest wall from the little cafe

Had my usual indignity of forgetting John's name and the usual pleasure of seeing many many marvellous Cranberries

Good to see you and Whofan on Sattiday Keith

I knew of the table dio, lots of my mates told me about it but in the rush to get round I missed it

😬

Must have walked past a dozen or so times then. I don't know how I don't bump into more things as I always seem to be wandering round with my eyes shut.....

Sorry I missed seeing you

That exactly mirrors my attitude about my 'lump'

It's paid for and it's all mine

I wish I'd been able to see you all but next year I'll try to be better at 'the social'

Had a busy weekend manning the Collectakit stand, but found time to skate round the halls. Picked up some AKAN paints reduced by 33% at Coastal Craft, grabbed a Mach2 Brittania from Didier and on the Special Hobby stand spotted the Casa 212-100 on Promotion, so grabbed a couple of those. Oh, almost forgot(hiding in the bottom of the bag) the Bae 146-200 from David at Combat Models.

I forgot to say thank you to the folks on the Aerobatic SIG for their hospitality on Saturday as well.  They had an American themed buffet behind their tables, and allowed me & Chris loose on it, introducing me to the strange charms of Jack Daniels Cider :hmmm:  Not sure I'd rush out and buy a pack tomorrow, but it's not bad, with the pleasant aspects of both types of falling-down water.  probably very easy to get senseless on it without realising it too :drunk:

I saw you from a distance in the cafe on Saturday Dave - you were too far away to shout to, and I was too knackered to get up!

Saturday's visit to SMW was my first non-railway modelling show for close on 30 years (I recall going to one out Hornchurch way in the late-1980s).

Travelled up by train (07:15 from Reading), then free minibus from the station to TIC and straight in (as an IPMS member) around 10:15.

As a recent returnee to the hobby, I didn't really have a plan/shopping list as such, so just bimbled my way around all the trade and display stands over a couple of hours, then returned to selected ones for a closer look. Very impressed by the standard of models on display on the club/SIG tables and up in the competition area. Parted with cash for a couple of kits that I liked the look of and bailed around 14:15 for minibus back to station and train home.

Most enjoyable, will definitely be returning next year and will keep an eye open for more local shows. Thanks to all involved in the show.

I don't have sore feet anymore - they got worn away on Sunday afternoon and all I'm left with are stumps! Was a great weekend and I really enjoyed taking photos of everyone in Hall 2

This was my biggest purchase as soon as the show opened on Saturday

You didn't miss me as I wasn't there mate!  Two years running.  Taking a break - not picked up a scalpel since September 2016 and a still unfinished Pz IV lying gathering dust on the bench.

John - where the heck was the Canberra table???? What limited time I had getting away from my stand I mostly spent running around all 3 halls trying to find your Canberra, I even tasked my wife and a friend with it and they couldn't find it either...

Really should have just asked you, but I forgot at the time.

Jeffrey

That's a shsme, what day did you look for us Jeffrey? We were only able to do the Saterday this year so we were put near the loading doors in hall one so we could get out with our too much disturbance to others. If you happen to be near Huddersfield in Feb that will be out next show.

Ah, that's why! Saturday I had no time for many excursions so I left it to the usually quieter Sunday...

No, Telford and Hornchurch are the only shows I attend and the latter probably not next year either.

It sounds like your Nat's experience is the same as mine I very seldom venture beyond the stand and when I do it's on the Sunday. It's a shame you missed us, but there is always next year!

:D you caught me looking preoccupied in the background, I'm in the dark green shirt looking (by a neat trick of alignment) as if I'm manhandling the Cardassian ship on the display tree :)
