Procopius
I purchased and am planning to build Tamiya's Spitfire IX in 1/32, as the mount of the great "Johnnie" Johnson. Now, it appears that JE-J's Spitfire IX EN398 had the solid hubcaps: Are these included in the kit or available from an aftermarket source? I'd be much obliged to anyone who can tell me. gingerbob
I guess the Pacific Coast Mk.IX came with spoked and solid-hub wheels (in resin), so perhaps you could bum a pair from someone's spares? It might also not be difficult to make your own hub covers, but that's speculation! There may be other options too, but that's the one that leapt up in a search. bob
Navy Bird
Sorry for the incredibly late reply on this, but I just stumbled onto this thread whilst doing some research. My copy of the Tamiya kit includes wheel covers in photoetch. Whether they are the correct wheel covers for the model you want to build is another story. Tamiya's are flat, and have both a hole for the hub and a smaller offset hole presumably for the valve stem(?). I'm sure that you've already discovered this in the time since you bought the kit, but I'm replying in case some other dolt like me stumbles onto this thread. Cheers, Bill 1
