1/72 - Grumman F-14D Tomcat by Great Wall Hobby

HobbySearch listed it at around $60, which is about Rp. 800k in my currency. Before shipping.

Meanwhile, someone in a trade forum I joined is selling Hasegawa's 1/48 F-14D for the same amount of cash, but with extra aftermarket VF-2 decals and Verlinden resin seats. I REALLY wanted to like this kit but the price-for-scale ratio is prohibiting me to go any further...

I have received my GWH F-14D.

First thing I saw after opening the box is a correction sheet.

Does anyone have the order delivered?

One strange thing is that there are 3 x phoneix missiles and 3 x sparrow missiles. The correction sheet shows there should be 6 x phoneix and 6x sparrow.

Is this something we should complain?

Parts and markings for an early Tomcat.. brilliant!

True loving the parts but the same repeated & ‘safe’ markings that everyone does or has released in the past  😡 why not have at least one far out or obscure option?

I like that VF-41 scheme. Very much.

VF-1 Wolfpack is well covered by everybody else and his uncle (the Revell 1:32 1986 box for example that still sits in the stash here).

Vf-41 early cag in gull over white is done in both 72 & 48 by the hboss ‘A’ cats.
Cam and microscale have done sheets on them in the past too - 106 & 101(?) respectively however essentially the same paint job...
