clive_t
Hi folks, my first Armour RFI and only the second tank I've ever made! This was in many ways a journey which started a few years ago when I learned from my father's military service record from WW2 that he was wounded in action on the 1st September 1942. It was always my intention to create a diorama to commemorate the 75th anniversary of that day. I had hoped to have the whole thing completed and ready to show on the actual anniversary; sadly that target was missed, but not for the lack of trying! I still have several figures to complete for the diorama, but for now I can at least share with you some photos of the finished tank. The WIP is a bit of an essay, so apologies in advance if you find yourself wading through all 15 pages of it here. As the WIP title might suggest, I am not normally given to non-aircraft subjects - not that I am particularly prolific even with aircraft to be fair. I have to be honest, though, and say I enjoyed this build immensely, and I am pretty confident that this will not be the last armour subject that I will ever attempt. Anyway, here they are, hope it's not too many: Comments and criticisms all welcome! 25

Badder
A great set of photos that really do your Grant justice. As I said in the WIP, that looks like it's really been in the desert! Glad to hear you enjoyed the build so much and that it won't be your last AFV. Rearguards, Badder

Bullbasket
Clive, you already know my opinions on this build, and all I'll add is to say that I reckon that your father would have approved. Welcome to the dark side and here's to many more. John.

Buzby061
Great job all round, looks like it's just been transported from the Libyan desert. Pete
clive_t
Thanks Pete, it was my hope to achieve that look. With a bit of luck it will sit well on the desert diorama base when it's all done.
Kris B
I am bit late, but as you probably noticed already I am enjoyed your project in WIP. Nice to see that you completed the build with amazing effect. Do not start another flying object, but go to shop and get another vehicle. Waiting for your next WIP.
clive_t
No worries Kris and thanks for your kind comments, also your input to the WIP is very much appreciated. My next WIP will very likely be land-based, as opposed to air-borne

FrancisGL
Despite all the little problems of the assembly, you have achieved a very good result, it is not a Takom, but it looks as good as other more expensive kits. The equipments have also been very real, and bring a touch of daily life in the front very appropriate in my opinion. , cheers Clive

Steve27752
Very great job, but I would tie down the items on the rear shelf and the front wings. The first bump and you would loose all of your kit. Edited September 26, 2017 by Steve27752
clive_t
Thanks Steve, you may have a point there however I am modelling the tank and its crew at leaguer, during which time stuff has had to be untied and relocated to get at other stuff underneath - hence the coiled rope sitting loosely on top of the biscuit tins. Possibly not much of an excuse, but I'm sticking with it
